Unbelievably good quality and delicious food for this affordable of prices. The meat on the melts tastes and looks very high quality and there’s also a lot of it. The sauces are fantastic. And she told us they weren’t serving fish and chips today because the ocean was too rough, meaning she uses extremely fresh fish!

This is, by far, the best fish and chips anywhere on the coast. Anywhere period! Crisp, light, melt in your mouth batter with juicy fish inside and the tartar sauce is awesome. We travel North to Oregon from Arizona yearly and didn't stop at Hunger Paynes till a few years ago. What a big mistake that was. Treat yourself to a delicious meal of fish and chips when you pass thru or if you stay awhile. Lady at the stand is really nice as well, so stop and enjoy.

Menu looked good and it's a place I've wanted to stop on my travels. We were ready for a little breakfast after agate hunting. We failed to read breakfast was until 11 (11:21.. it 'twas) oh well. We would have ordered lunch but the person was beyond rude and nasty we decide not to enforce that behavior with a positive... so we left. They must be so busy they don't need customers.

Shrimp & fish tacos not there anymore and they were quite rude when I asked if they still had them. Imagine being triggered by tacos. Shrimp melt was decent, but not great.

The best fish and chips in Gold Beach are made here, at Hunger Paynes. The batter is light and fluffy with the perfect amount of crunch. The fish was perfectly cooked little chunks. Served with sauces on the side, crinkle cut fries (perfectly browned) and a delicious coleslaw. I was blown away, actually.Also: They have the best deal on a cheeseburger and fries in town and the breakfast burritos are tasty and affordable.

My boyfriend and I both had a breakfast burrito with egg, cheese, bacon and sausage. Quality and flavor was great, prices are also super fair for the large portions. Unfortunately we are from out of state visiting family, but if we are local we would be back frequently!

We had 3 fish and chips in as many days, from different locations. These were the cheapest but smallest chunks of fish. Grilled cheese was good.
The fact that there was an outright refusal of services to a firefighting crew is beyond disgusting. Those people are risking their lives to keep your area safe and you refuse them service.......I will NEVER support a business who does that.

The ladies here do a great job!! The food is good & hearty, and reasonably priced. There's not much for seating & ambiance, but the harbor & jetty are close by and provide plenty of ambiance!! The biscuit breakfast sandwich- delicious!! Give them a try!!!
