I stoped here before backpacking the 40 mile Timberline Trail. I got their breakfast burrito and it was huge and delicious. It kept me fueled up all day and powered me through the first 18 miles. If I’m in this area again, I’m definitely stopping here!

This Cafe with the Bomb Thrower Bagel, you think about if for weeks afterwards. A must stop!!! Great service, clean, inviting, quality Coffe drinks, incredible Food, homemade soup, sandwiches that tast wonderful and good prices in this inflation time period we are in. Highly recommend. The cook and cashier made us feel welcome and was excited to make our meal memorable. Thank you High Mountain Cafe. Part of our fondest memories at Government Camp and Ski Bowl. Food is average, service is poor, prices aren't representative of the quality, in a bad way. Expecting a tip when there is no real service beyond taking your money is just plain ridiculous. $16 for a turkey sandwich and a bag of chips left me feeling ripped off.

Delicious! We had the veggie burrito and bagel sandwich and even our picky teenagers wanted to go back the next day. Service was quick and good. We’d go back!

I highly recommend stopping for a sandwich at the High Mountain Café, Bakery & Deli in Government Camp. The word "sandwich" doesn't usually excite me, but these sandwiches are delicious, especially the hot ones. They also serve a variety of breakfast sandwiches. Unfortunately, they have been shortening their hours, since not many people stop there after skiing. They used to be open till 4 pm, then cut down to 3 pm, and now they close at 2 pm. But if you ski hard and get tired by 1 pm, come and try this delicious food. Or, ski down the ungroomed Glade Trail to Government Camp and have lunch here before taking the Mt. Hood Express bus back to the Timberline ski area.Located diagonally across the street from Charlie's Mountain View Pub, and right next door to the Ratskeller. This is also the building where Hyalmar Hvaam, the inventor of the first safety binding, had his ski shop
Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian options on the menu. Also, the proprietor and cook is very flexible in customizing the sandwiches to your needs.
Kid-friendliness: There are several kid-friendly items on the menu. Also there is an amusement room right next to the eating room.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is a set of stairs at the entrance, but right next to the stairs is a lift for wheeelchairs.

Stopped in for breakfast and an espresso drink. Large portions, and in my opinion was very tasty and really good coffee. Cafe style environment with small tables.

This is my favorite “lunch” restaurant choice in Government Camp. The Cafe has excellent homemade soups & delicious sandwiches that are made on the spot. Vast variety of drinks as well. Five stars for sure!
We wanted to get a sandwich to take on a hike today, and this place had some good options. We chose the Avalanche (turkey, provolone, red onion, avocado, lettuce, aioli and some other sauce on lightly toasted wheat.) It was really great! The bread was both a little chewy yet moist and flavorful, and the whole was greater than the sum of the parts - yum! The baked goods at checkout looked very nice, especially the red berry (raspberries, strawberries?) tart. So I splurged and got one of those - it was delicious!! I wanted to go back and tell them how good the food was!
Don't bother. Stale bagles, twice cooked bacon, unmelted cheese. Get better ingredients I paid ten bucks for the birds to eat breakfast.
