Fantastic food. Wonderful atmosphere. And great service. Their uniform policies need to be updated, but other than that I love this place!
Update:03 10 2026
Unfortunately , like many places that try to keep a high quality product and service going in times like this, quality has taken a hit. Our dinner was not as great as it had been in the past.
But on the upside, the uniform policy now includes all, not just the female presenting.
Good on ya heidis!

This was our first time visiting Heidi’s. I honestly wasn’t expecting too much out of the food, I’ll say it met my fairly low expectations appropriately
On our way out, a very elderly lady tripped on a rug and fell flat on her face. She said she thought her arm was broken. The staff was standing around as though they didn’t know what to do. I asked if anyone was calling 911 and nobody was. Her male partner said he wanted to “wait a few minutes”
A few minutes later, she’s still flat on her face directly in front of the cash register. Still clearly injured and clearly unable to get up on her own and NOBODY was helping her. I told her male partner that I was calling 911 whether or not he approved.
And so I did. I sat down next to her head and talked to her and patted her back while I was on the phone with paramedics and the staff STILL just stood there. I had to summon the manager over to give the paramedics the exact address. Because he was just standing there, while I comforted her and my husband moved things out of the way for emergency crews
More and more people kept coming in, and people were trying to squeeze past this elderly injured lady who was flat on her face, to get to the restroom. The staff just kept seating them. They kept taking orders from the gift shop. Not a single person showed any empathy towards this woman.
I had to summon the manager over to get the exact address for paramedics.
Meanwhile, my husband knew paramedics would be coming with a stretcher. So he started moving all their greeting card racks out of the way so they could get in. While he was doing this, customers kept getting in the way, some staring and laughing, while again, staff did exactly NOTHING to stop it. And not one staff member stepped in to help him. It’s also worth mentioning he literally had to peel the greeting card racks off the floor, because the floor underneath them was so sticky and filthy.
Our server Juan was the bright spot in our evening. He was so sweet and wonderful. The staff response to this poor elderly lady falling and being injured was shockingly unacceptable.

Everything about this place is just perfect. The dungeonous crab omelet and bran muffin are literally out of this world good. Gift shop rules as well, merch is all cool looking, hoodie merch is carhartt brand. The place looks incredible and is clean as a whistle. My favorite breakfast spot.

Heidies is the old fashioned dining experience. I tried Elmer's, they are terrible. The food is horrible compared to Heidi's. Try Heidi's, they have EVERYTHING, stuff you have not been offered anywhere else. I highly recommend Heidi's in Gresham Oregon. The dessert are home, you can get a slice or whole cakes or pies. I bought a chocolate cake for my birthday. It was delightful.

Just like every other diner around. I would choose others over this though. I had high hopes we got our food and my hash browns were undercooked and there was a ball of hair on top of them. Other than that the food was all right. Probably won't come back though. Just because of the hair and the undercooked hash browns. Not appetizing at all.

One of the worst casualties of COVID-19 has to be the (temporary) loss of traditional Oktoberfest celebrations across the PNW. Both Mount Angel and Leavenworth have cancelled their events, leaving us with a dearth and a longing for our yearly Bavarian fix. Fortunately Heidi's is closer than both, and a worthy substitute to alleviate the most acute withdrawal symptoms.
The exterior, with its water wheel and Alpine accoutrement, was a welcome sight, as was the adorable gift shop just inside the entrance. The interior is warm and rustic, with dark brick and hardwood tones throughout; all that is missing are a couple of massive kegs built into a wall to really sell the Bavarian theme. The servers, each dressed in a unique dirndl according to their taste, was a nice touch.
As for the food: homestyle cooking, through and through, just like Oma would make! We ordered a fondue pot (fantastic!) to split with the kids (a first time for them!), stuffed cabbage rolls (massive, hearty and wonderful, with a rich tomato-based sauce), a cup of chicken curry soup (thick, warm, and not too heavy on the curry), and the reuben with potato salad (perfect pastrami, and the dressing on the side, which is a nice touch and prevents the sandwich from becoming soggy). Add to our order three kids meals, two of which were cheeseburgers that had me looking on with envy: they were massive, and awfully reminiscent of an In-N-Out burger, and I mean that with praise. I've never seen our kids wolf down and clean their plates as they did here!
My wife and I, on the other hand, were stuffed to the gills with only half of our entrees, so you will absolutely get your money's worth here! My wife ended up finishing her cabbage rolls for dinner tonight, and could only just do so...that's how massive they were!
We will absolutely be back, any time we have a craving for a taste of the Alps! It's a lot closer than Leavenworth, and with the closing of the Glockenspiel in Mount Angel, I'm so very thankful that Heidi's exists! What a lucky find, and practically in our backyard!

Met my good friend for lunch! I had the chili with cheese and onions and he had eggs Benedict with hash browns. Delicious! They also have delicious cakes! I'm particularly fond of their German Chocolate.
