McCrae’s gives you old school small town vibes in the midst of Gresham. The food is always phenomenal, the service makes you feel like family, and the portion sizes are fantastic for the price. Our family has made McCrae’s a tradition for 3 day weekends (ie Labor Day), it’s busy but the service is still great. We will be loyal customers for life!

A few years ago we went to breakfast at this restaurant. We all ordered French toast and pancakes to eat. I reached over for the syrup on the table and noticed black specks inside the syrup, which was odd. I looked closer at the bottle to find that the black specks were actually dead ants. We notified the server and they took away that bottle and said, 'Sorry about that' and never addressed again. When it was time to pay for our meal, I let the front end manager know about the ants in the syrup and wanted to know how they would remedy the situation and I was met with unprofessionalism, yelling, and was threatened to get the police called on me because they thought I was looking for a free meal. They ended up accusing us of bringing the ants and putting them into the syrup. The argument escalated from there, I couldn't believe my ears because I was so dumbfounded at what was being said, and I was ultimately banned from McRaes. Well that's okay with me because I was disgusted with how I was treated and accused of bringing ants into the restaurant. How immature of the management to say such a thing. Thumbs down. Watch out for ants in the syrup bottles. Ye be warned.

Best place for breakfast hands down. Their country gravy is amazing. Get the haystack or chicken fried steak. You will not be disappointed.

I had been wanting to try this place for years so I finally stopped by around 7AM this morning (7/25/25) to check it out. I walked in and there were a few other customers in the place, but not busy by any means. I waited at the host counter near the entrance for someone to seat me or let me see a menu for takeout. Nobody came. I made eye contact with the person in the kitchen making food twice and a someone who I assume was a waitress walked by and made eye contact with me as well. No greeting, no “I’ll be with you in a minute” no “welcome in”. Just ignored. I waited for a little over 5 minutes before just returning to my car and driving away. Very clear that customer service is not this place’s strong suit. Lost a potential regular customer and I’ll be letting others in my life know to avoid this place. Do better. 🤷🏻♂️
