Service was fine, waitress was very pleasant and efficient, no complaint with her at all - did leave her a nice tip. However, and it's a big 'however' - ordered a $38 rib steak and was served what appeared to be a semi-tough sirloin, very little taste and nearly too tough to chew. For a 'world-famous' steak house, it was one of the most disappointing dinners I've ever had.
Come here often. Steaks are good, not to fatty. Cooked as was ordered. Waiter was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. Bit top end on price.

Honestly the prime rib was cooked to perfection. The horseradish was tangy but not hot to the point it hides the flavor of the meat. Our server was very friendly and efficient, as I noticed all the servers were a d staff. This little place is a gem and we will be back.

We went to the Haines Steak house for my uncles 80th birthday party. Since we were a semi large group they wouldn’t let us order off of the main menu. And the very limited menu that they gave us to order from they refused to cook the steak to order. It was too challenging for the cooks to cook a rare steak. My uncle wanted to get lobster with his steak a splurge for his 80th birthday and even though they were serving it in the restaurant they would not serve it to him because it wasn’t on their limited 3 item menu. Very disappointing to say the least!

Great food, prime rib and filet, both cooked as specified. Reasonable prices, friendly, rustic western decor. Can't do much better unless you pay double or triple

What a great find. We were on a golf trip around Baker City and were able to sneak in before they closed. The staff was great. Very friendly and accommodating. The Filet Mignon, Powder Valley Flat Iron steak and the chicken fried steak. All of it tasted so good. There were 4 of us and no one left hungry. I highly recommend taking the time to visit this amazing restaurant.
Good remote Meal in Cowboy county.
Took a group to the Steakhouse last night and was less than impressed. Typically stop there several times a year when we travel through. After last nights experience we’ll probably just keep driving. Service and drinks to start were slow, one of our guests was ordering prime rib and hadn’t eaten for quite some time, so on the way out of the restroom he stopped by the salad bar to dish up a salad as it’s advertised that it comes with the meal. The owner immediately reprimanded him as he had not ordered yet, mind you we had reservations and drinks that still hadn’t showed up. Between two of the shrimp pasta plates that we ordered there was a a total of 9 little shrimp on the entrees. Prime rib was fair but not great and the 8oz and 10 oz steaks that were ordered were the same size. Service was subpar and to be “disciplined” for getting the ball rolling on dinner I’ll take my $400 plus that I spent somewhere that the business appreciates it next time.
