Honolulu Fish Grill

This is located in a mini food court setting with about 6 big screen TVs. It's not my preference, but I was hungry for some Hawaiian-style Asian fusion food. The kiosk was staffed by one person who had to leave frequently to retrieve the food from the kitchen. As a result, there is a little bit of a wait between customer ordering. I expected that when I walked in the door so I was prepared to wait. I ordered the Furikake Ahi Tataki, with the base of 1/2 white rice and 1/2 salad, along with the macaroni salad. The salad was delicious and fresh, and the rice was steamed to perfection. The mac salad just melted in my mouth - it was great! The ahi was out of this world. No strong "fishy" taste. The taste actually resembled a top sirloin steak, cooked medium rare to medium but with the umami flavor of the furikake and spicy sauce! The texture was incredible! My dish caught the attention of the party of two at the next table. They said they will order it on their next visit... so will I.

I ordered the chicken Katsu, and I was severely disappointed. It definitely did not look anything like the picture online.And very overpriced for this kind of chicken katsu, in my opinion.

Food flavor pretty authentic, I enjoyed it! Only reason why I rated a 3 was because I did delivery, I got a mana bowl, Kalua pork and poke, my suggestion is If the poke can be in a separate container and kept cold till food is picked up for delivery. This could help with quality. Since it’s uncooked and then kept in the same container with the hot food it could cause contamination or create food illness.

Tried this place for the first time tonight. I ordered the Aina pack with high hopes based on the pictures and reviews. I'm extremely surprised by how bad it actually was. All of the meat was extremely overcooked, yet cold. Like they overcooked it and had it sitting around for a while. The rice was overcooked and mushy. The noodles for the macaroni salad were overcooked and mushy as well. Macaroni salad was almost tasteless. The meat seemed like it was heated quickly and layed directly on top of the salad, which wilted it. The macaroni salad almost seemed warmer than the meat was somehow. I'm not a picky eater and will usually just eat stuff that isn't great anyway, but I can't even do that with this. It's that bad, unfortunately...I was pretty excited to find a highly rated Hawaiin food place near me, but I ended up beyond disappointment in the food quality. As someone who's worked in food service, I'm actually disappointed I even have to right this review, but I feel like I'd be doing a disservice if I didn't. The girl that rang me up was friendly, but that's the only good thing I can say. The other food in my order for other people was equally disappointing. Picture shows the couple bites I got through before deciding I might get sick if I continue to eat this...

So just curious.. I just walked in and tried to order 3 plates of salmon katsu fish n chips and was told it's no longer on the menu. Is this permanent? If so, major bummer.

Food was great! My favorites were the pork and garlic edamame, but everything was tasty! This is a food court style restaurant with other food, drink and dessert places in one building. I’ll definitely be back!

Never even realized we had an Hawaiian joint in the area! Came here on a whim after finding out about it. Had the salmon katsu with a side of Korean fried chicken and Kim Chee. A ton of food that was so good to eat! Will definitely be coming back again soon!

Best Poke ever!!! I tried Poke sampler and it was awesome. My husband and I love it. We will definitely come back and try different Pokes.
