La Catrina food carts

It was our first time we eat here and it was so good and delicious it was like a home cooked meal. My hubanad is a truck driver. Thank you. We will be back.

My son has been hyping this taco truck up for ages, so I finally checked it out with him last week. We placed a to-go order of $43 total, average $3/taco.

The tacos were okay at best dry and a bit too salty for my taste. That said, I appreciated the fresh avocado slices we paid extra for and the double tortillas, which held up well against the meat and sauce.

Service was fine, but they forgot the red sauce we wanted, and the green sauce they gave us wasn’t anything special, we ended up tossing most of it. They did provide a good amount of lime, which helped. I liked the pickled jalapeños, but the pickled carrots were over-pickled and too sharp.

They have covered outdoor seating for sun or rain and plenty of parking right off 82nd Ave, which is a plus.

Not terrible, but not memorable enough for a return trip with so many great taco spots in Portland.

The food was delightful. Beautiful presentation. Healthy and the flavors were phenomenal. The best truck in the lot!

My husband brings home tacos from here all the time now. They are amazing. Every single time. We get the carnitas asada and the lengua, with extra roasted jalapeños. The guys working there are working hard and always super great to my husband. Bonus points for being open late when we get off work super late! Keep killing it guys! Thanks for the tacos!

My favorite Mexican place by far. Always nice people, always delicious food, and reasonable prices with great portions. I've tried a lot of things on their menu, all of which are great. My favorite is a carnitas burrito.

***SCAM ALERT ‼️*** My family has been coming to this place for over a decade. I never imagined I’d be leaving a negative review for a spot that used to be our favorite go-to for tacos. Be on the lookout; the current staff are scammers.

First incident: I ordered 5 tacos ($2.50 each) for pickup with extra onions and cilantro. When I got there, the cashier rang me up for $12.50, but then she fiddled with the register and suddenly the total jumped to $20. I didn’t think much of it at the time (which is exactly what they want is for you to not pay attention). I paid and drove off, but later I started wondering if the prices had gone up again. I let it sit overnight.

Second incident: I ordered 5 tacos again (still $2.50 each). The cashier rang me up for $12.50, just like before, but when he came back to take my card, the total suddenly shot up to $25. I called him out on it, but he claimed it was an error with the register.

Takeaway: When you look down to get your cash/card, they’ll sneakily adjust the total on the register. Don’t make the same mistake I did. We’re a huge fan of their tacos but it’s a shame they’ve started this scamming practice. Will be looking for another taco place.

Phenomenal!—- this is WAY better than I remember it being a few months back. I don’t know if they’ve changed owners or management or what. The meat portions on the tacos are top notch everything is very well prepared. The salsa Verde is now an Aguacate and it is amazing! Good job guys!—- holy hell that was awesome!

Terible people if there friendly to you its because they expect a tip and if you dont they well change there quality for you even if you constantly go and tip. if u wanna support good people find somewhere else they dont care there garbage people.

Some of the absolute best asada street tacos in town!! Incredibly kind staff and wonderful service! Great chorizo and a spicy red salsa as well! AND opened late! Go here now!!

My taco salad was so big I couldn't finish it. I was starving from food poisoning so I failed to take a photo. Finally, a place that listens so I will be back for sure. :{>
