We had a to go order and it didn't come with any wasabi, ginger, soy sauce or chop sticks. We had the crispy rice cali crunch (add cream cheese) and that was amazing! However, we were very underwhelmed with the sunomono salad (add snow crab), ebi tempura and plains rolls. The sunomono salad was super dry and flavorless and the rolls were the same. Our order was around $80, and sadly I feel like it was very overpriced for what we received.

We come here all the time and it’s consistently amazing. The food is always super fresh and high quality, and every meal has been great. Charlie is hands down the best server — super personable, attentive, and always makes us feel welcome. The best spot in Happy Valley!

First off I am super picky and critical of Japanese food. Blame my Grandma and Mother for this as they made delicious traditional Japanese food.

The food here is slightly above average. I love the Gyu Don. The only disappointment is that the portion size is small.

The Agedashi batter is somewhat gooey and not crisp and flakes as it should be and both the Agedashi and Tempura sauce misses the mark on the traditional umami flavor. It has vinegar which is more like a Shabu Shabu or Ponzu sauce.

The Yakitori is good and I recommend the pork belly.

I ecommend this place. The ambiance is well done and the staff is excellent. This is my go to Japanese in Happy Valley.

Apparently this place is all vibes no substance or customer service. We were sat right in front of the bar where we were clearly visible by everyone but were ignored. We were dining in on Wednesday before dinner rush. The was not busy. At all. The amount of staff outnumber diners 2:1 with only about 3 small tables being occupied. A one hour meal turned into over 2 hours with all the waiting on service we experienced. The food was also meh. Not bad but definitely not good enough for the price. Will not be back.

Taylor was a great server! OMG the blackened mahi rice bowl was no question top tier! Has a little kick of spice. Amazing flavors! 10/10 food, flavor, atmosphere, service! Would absolutely recommend!

Cute place, very beautiful inside. When we went inside, there were 20 open tables. They placed us at a table under their fake cherry blossom tree- wonderful since I was on a date with my fiance.

Then the next guests who came in were parents with a screaming baby. Despite the 19 available tables, they decided to place them at the table directly next to us. The kid was throwing crayons around, throwing play doh, screaming the whole time… it really soured our experience. Had we not already gotten our food, I would have requested to move tables, but we decided to just finish our food quickly and leave.

Its also not that the other tables were unavailable to be used- next two groups that came in before we left were placed further away, not directly up against other patrons. Not sure why they decided to torture us with a screaming baby 😭

The staff were wonderful. I love the cherry blossom tree in the middle it really adds to the atmosphere. And although the plating of the food was beautiful the flavor left much to be desired. Especially the gyoza which was exceptionally bland. But everything else was great

We just finished dinner at Sakura Yakitori & Sushi and overall had a really good experience. The atmosphere was very nice — clean, comfortable, and inviting. It felt like a great spot for a relaxed evening out.

We ordered:
• Fire & Ice Roll
• Summer Roll
• Winter Roll
• Spicy Salmon Roll

The Summer Roll was hands down the favorite — very, very good. Fresh, flavorful, and balanced. I would absolutely order that again.

The other specialty rolls were solid, but the Spicy Salmon Roll was a miss for me personally because it had sesame seeds, and I’m allergic to sesame. Just something to be aware of if you have allergies.

We also ordered the ceviche, and that was outstanding — really, really good. Bright, fresh, and full of flavor. I would definitely get that again. The pot of green tea was fine — nothing special, but it paired nicely with the meal.

Overall, great atmosphere with a couple standout items (especially the Summer Roll and ceviche). We’d come back.

a great sushi spot with a beautiful, well decorated atmosphere, especially being able to sit under the cherry blossom. Making a reservation was super easy with no wait time when we arrived. Helen was a nice welcoming host and she made us feel comfortable from the moment we walked in while taking great care of us throughout the meal. whole experience here was a pleasant and enjoyable time!

It was awesome, at first there was sticker shock but the nigiri portions were BIG and the hamachi carpaccio and it was a good size and delicious. Nice atmosphere and friendly service.

Overpriced for what it is. Small tables. Plus for fat rolls. Calamari is a no. Sub-par at best

The restaurant was beautiful, and the staff were kind and attentive! We made a reservation to be seated under the Sakura tree but there was a lot of space in the restaurant. I think it’s a good addition to the area.

The food was ok. I think the presentation, quantity, and freshness of food was good for the price. The taste, however, was just ok. The meat skewers were a bit overcooked (meat was a bit tough) and the veggies skewers felt undercooked (cucumbers were a bit hard).

The rolls were really large, which is good for people who prefer quantity, but I personally wish the vegetable fillings were smaller in the rolls. The oshinko was too large in the Wagyu roll, and overall there was too much rice in the rolls, so I had a hard time savoring the meat/fish portion of the rolls. I couldn’t finish even one roll.

The nigiri was good because the fish was fresh. The ama ebi fried head was good but felt like it could’ve been fried longer and maybe slightly more seasoned.

They were also out of a few ingredients: wagyu, scallops, real crab, so keep that in mind if you decide to go (we went the last week of December 2025).

I am happy they offered real wasabi, however! They give such a big amount of real wasabi when you order it.

Overall, I can feel this place wants to provide a good experience to their customers, so I hope their food continues to get better.

Every roll I got here was phenomenal! I was a little bummed they ran out of Ikura last summer after a long tubing excursion on the river. I was talking about their ikura roll all day and how much I was looking forward to it because we live a bit further away in Camas so I don't get to come here very often. But when we tube down that river, this is our go to spot because we just love the sushi here more than other spots we've been.
