Coming from a blue collar man, I had no idea I would be getting emotional at dinner tonight, I miss home and you took me on a 2000 mile trip back there faster then any car or plane ever could. “It's the only place in Brookings that's open past 10:00 that I can find. They make a really good hamburger, that had something called pork belly on it. Which I really think is just extra thick bacon. Either way it was really good. The locals are fine and friendly and they do karaoke right up until they close. All in all good place.“

“We stopped by Oxenfre Pub on our road trip. It was already 8.30pm and everywhere else was closed or about to close, so this was our only option. Thankfully, Oxenfre was happy to cook us food (which was very tasty, & with quick and friendly service), which we greatly appreciated after a long day on the road. It is obviously a local go-to pub, as, while it wasn't full, was buzzing for karaoke night. The music was loud, but we enjoyed the fun atmosphere of the usual wildly varied quality of singing that comes with karaoke (one guy had an incredible voice!). They have pool tables, sofa chairs, & bar stools at high tables. I can imagine frequenting this pub if we lived in Brookings! I don't have photos to post as it was pretty dark in there- too dark for photos.“

“Can we all say Steamer clams. YUM!! It's by far the best I have had in a 400 miles radius. I have had them at many places and none compare to the Catalyst. The flavor is on point, that sausage really tops it off. I will always get the steamers. Also the Coastal Lemonade drink is awesome 👌. Their fresh oysters are great too when served on the half shell, not a fan of the ones served in a plastic cup. Just doesnt feel right. Happy to see they are serving their drinks in glasses now, not plastic cups. I highly suggest checking this spot out. They offer out door seating which is great on a sunny day. 🌞 customer service has always been good.“
