Yesterday I ordered fish and chips, and after my first bite, my tongue was on fire. I sent it back and was told by the waiter that they use Cayenne pepper in the batter and always have done so. Obviously, they had used too much paprika. You should be able to taste fish not spice and have a burning tongue.
So I then ordered a cup of clam chowder, but was unable to eat it because it since my tongue was still burning.
When it came time to pay the bill, I was told he took the fish and chips off my order. Well, yeah, you think.

The so called beef stroganoff I had and the so called beef stew were basically the same brown slop with a few tiny pieces of meat and some soggy onions . This is my second time there. Shame on me. I wouldn't recommend this. The food is terrible. I only gave it two stars for the perky waitress and the decent salad.

I had a tough trip, I was homesick and I was shocked at dinner to find they had stew, it tasted just like my mom’s. Coming from a blue collar man, I had no idea I would be getting emotional at dinner tonight, I miss home and you took me on a 2000 mile trip back there faster then any car or plane ever could. Thank you 🙏

The atmosphere is relaxing and the bar tender was friendly and fun. He was quite the joke teller with quick wit. The food was very good and the beer cold. It was a great little find on our mini-trip to Brookings!

Went in as a party of 8, there were only two other tables in there so it wasn’t busy at all. It was terrible service, never once asked about drink refills and took an hour to take our order. Our server was standing at the bar not attending to us or doing any side work.
Seems like they have no idea what they are doing. Staff left dining area unattended multiple times.

We will not be going back or recommending this place to anyone. Worst food and worst service i’ve ever experienced. Way overpriced as well.

Classic rock playing throughout.
Comfortable seating both indoors and out.
Clam chowder is thick, smooth, and full of clams! They take the bread bowl cut outs to make you side of garlic bread.
Fish and chips is well seasoned and crisp
We all loved the fries!
We may just come back for dinner rather than try anywhere else while we’re on vacation it’s that good and we want to try the whole menu!

Kid-friendliness: Coloring kids menu with mac&cheese, chicken fingers, and a cute “charcuterie board” for them to pick at!

Was in town and was one of the few places open so stopped in and so glad I did! I was starving and the fish and chips were on special. It was so good! Coleslaw was fantastic too! Our waiter was hilarious and even stuck around to chat and told my group a joke. Seemed like a good bar to go to for some drinks after work, lots of locals! Chill vibes and good food if you ever find yourself in Brookings, OR!

After extensive research we opted for Fat Irish due the phenomenal reviews. I have never been treated so poorly at a dining establishment. We were told to sit at a table and waited 11 minutes watching the waitress totally ignore us and tend to her high top tables. Finally she walked by, dropped menus and said “here you go”. We felt completely unwelcome and left immediately. No water, no greeting just snubbed. I guess this is not a place for tourists.

A gem of a find. We are only here for a week and have eaten here 3 times! Their food is soooo good. (Reuben sandwich, cottage pie, Irish stew) we’re going to try the fish and chips and bangers and mash when we come back before we head out of town. Lots of locals come here. Nice servers and cute ambiance.

We enjoyed our server Jo. She was ready to help and easy to talk to. We are from out of town and asked about local spots to see the sunset. Our server was eager to help and asked the regulars about spots nearby. Very helpful! We had some Irish stew in a bread bowl. Filing and tasty. Thank you!
