I met Mark and Rene today when I went in to their store in a moment of pure serendipity. I just happened to glance in the window on the walk to my car, and saw that they had sourdough proofing baskets and I was immediately intrigued. They chatted with me happily as I asked what kind of pickles they recommend and ordered a coffee. Their store is absolutely gorgeous and they are so sweet. Bonus is that I got a cinnamon panda on my latte and it absolutely made my day! I'll be back I'm sure.

I was so fortunate to be able to do a Saturday Shout Out for Mark and Rene who are the amazing Owners at Bennett Urban Farm Store. Not only are they passionate about what they do, their coffee and fresh pastries are delicious, but they also care about the local community and have over 80 local vendors that have goods in their store to sell. I didn't like dark roast coffee, until I tried the dark roast from Bennett!
I've been drinking medium roast from the usual PDX roasters, because I've never found a dark roast that I enjoyed, and just assumed I was a medium roast guy. I was having lunch in the DT Hillsboro Main St area and wandered into the store (because coffee), struck up a convo with Mark, who was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. On a whim, I got the Dark Roast Brazil bean, and the next morning, I was so surprised how much I enjoyed it! It was delicious! On top of everything else, it did not upset my stomach.
So now I swing by for the Dark Roast Brazil whenever the supply runs low. I still drink Stumptown/Portland Coffee (medium) roasts, but now I have a dark roast that I absolutely love.

These guys have incredible local, almost over-ripe berries in the summer. Competes well with the best ones in farmers' markets, but available whenever you want them at the corner store. Just don't miss their fridge in general!

This is one of my “must go to” places when we visit our kids in Hillsboro! I love the variety of locally produced foods, items and books (check out the “Gates of Aurona” books based in Hillsboro). As a non-coffee drinker I can’t speak to the flavor But I love talking about how their beans are sourced, roasted, processed, and flavored with Mark and Rene.

Incredible store! Best coffee in the country honestly. It’s fresh and they have a wide variety of coffee they roast themselves. I love their “midnight in Brazil” blend that’s a super dark roast. They make every visit to their store an experience and they’re wonderful people with excellent products who wish to serve their community. Love this place! 10/10 recommend!
