“Since the loss of Lovejoys we've been trying different tea places around the area but Skywater is the best one we've tried so far. There's nice ambience, a large tea selection, wonderful tea sandwiches that were traditional flavors but impeccably done with soft milk bread and the best mayos (dukes, Kewpie). The scones were nice, esp the summer menu peach ones, the clotted cream is good and they make it there. The Oreo cheesecakes were so unusually delicious, I was so surprised and delighted by how good they were and wish I had gotten the recipe. My favorite treat tho was the nectarine panna cotta we were served while we waited for our tea. Our host was friendly, knowledgeable, and seemed to really care about the details of afternoon tea.”

“Really good food, very friendly staff, and really good managers, I definitely recommend Stanford’s in Tanasbourne , everyone needs to come in and try it if you haven’t yet, I recommend the fried calamari and the chimichurri steak tips, they are really really good, save space for dessert and try the chocolate mousse, and make sure to try out the drinks the way is made is all fresh made juices, so if you are in the area make sure to stop by at Stanford’s in Tanasbourne, you will not be disappointed.”

Revisited with a few guests. Service was great as usual. Salmon and steelhead entrees were really delicious. Brownies, creme brulee and the cheesecake were also amazing. Portions of the desserts are much bigger compared to the entrees. So order with caution ! Spent about $45 per person, which is not too bad given the overall quality.

Revisited today. What I really like about this place is it is one of the very few restaurants that serve great food as late as 22:50. I am a night owl and I often end up looking for dinner past 22:00. Copper River is perfect for me!

Brought friends from Atlanta and they sampled the dessert menu. Got thumbs up all round. The banana split was amazing. Creme Brulee was also top notch! CR did not disappoint as usual. Service was good too though it was a busy Friday night.

I brought my team of 20+ in from work to enjoy the items on the menu for lunch. Everyone was happy as expected.

Great service as usual. Ribeye steak needs to be thicker and cooked less. Desserts were excellent. Had to wait to be seated though I had a reservation and arrived on time. Very crowded on Friday evenings. Parking was challenging.

13 July 2025 - Revisited for dinner. Waited for 15 minutes to be seated. Salmon with orzo rice was good. Mashed potatoes that came with the ribeye was too salty. Honestly, less salt will definitely bring the flavors out more. My classic dessert choice creme brulee did not disappoint. I loved the local Pino Griogio fwom Washington. Very easy to drink a bit in the sweet side like riesling. Service was also great. I am starting to believe Copper River serves the best calamari in all of Portland. It is hard to match, really!

Tried the pot pie today for the first time. I was pretty tasty. Service was great as usual.

Revisited on 21 Sep 2026 - For a change, I sat at the bar with a friend and had a few beers. Service was great as always. They kindly let us stay a bit longer after official closing time. This restaurant never disappoints and is still my favorite place to eat out.”

Every time we visit, the experience is amazing. They host incredible events with great food and wine pairings, and the atmosphere is always welcoming and memorable. My husband and I each got the 911; I got mine blended with a little extra chocolate and he had his hot with a little extra caramel. I was driving, and I'm not exaggerating when I say I had to pull over and just sip for a while.

The service was great, and the staff genuinely seemed to be having a good time at work. Listening to their banter (and participating just a little) put a much-needed smile on my face.

You may wonder why I gave a drive-thru only place five stars for atmosphere, but that little kiosk is packed with personality! The menu items and the seasonal specials have cute or quirky or just plain fun names, everything is very colorful, their collectible stickers are in full display, and they play upbeat, happy music. “From Silverton, Oregon and I went hunting in eastern Oregon and I harvested an amazing black bear I looked around for a butcher and nobody was taking any wild game. I called the meeting place and they said they were in drop offs were from from 10 AM to 2 o’clock p.m. I was instantly met with an amazing staff that was knowledgeable, kind and very friendly. I ended up meeting a manager that ran their wild game department, which I have to say that woman is just absolutely amazing with information. Very knowledgeable answered every question I had honestly I was a little hesitant about going all the way to Portland area for a butcher, but I have to say there is no finer butcher team in Oregon that I honestly can say I would rather use other than the meeting place I will continue to use them for all of my game processing absolutely amazing team great greetings just an absolute nice people to deal with most booster shops are very blunt. Some can say not very friendly straight to the point and bye-bye not this place this place is energetic very friendly, respectful kind very knowledgeable. You will not find a better butcher shop in Oregon from what I have seen and I have seen just about every butcher shop we have in Oregon. These guys are top notch if you’ve never left a butcher shop completely smiling and having a great experience you should take the drive to Hillsborough and try these guys. Absolutely amazing. Cannot say enough about these people.”

“6 months ago I would have thought this IHOPwas going to close. I ordered online today and picked up my order. I walked in and was promptly greeted. I noticed something had changed. The parking lot full and tables 90% full. Never had seen that in at least 20 years. I had stopped a manager and asked how long he has worked here. He said 1 month. I told him I already see a pleasant experience from the moment I walked in. He interacted with the customers, communicated order quality with the cooks, checked the orders going out. One being mine. No problems with the food now. I will return with pride because the employees have pride. Well done management. Well done. Hillsboro needed a positive restaraunt again.”
