“Oregon Mini Society descended on McMenamins Rock Creek Tavern, and it could not have been a better destination.

First off, the table. If you know, you know. The massive old-growth timber round table just inside the side entrance is worth the visit alone. It’s the kind of table that makes you want to count the growth rings and debate its age over lunch (we considered it… then the food arrived and priorities shifted). It comfortably handled our lively group and instantly set the tone for a relaxed, communal gathering.

The staff was friendly, patient, and genuinely accommodating. When a group of classic car enthusiasts shows up talking oil pressure, tire pressure, and twisty roads, that can go one of two ways. Here, we were welcomed like regulars.

The food was excellent, the atmosphere warm and historic, and the setting makes it an ideal starting point, mid-point, or finish line for any car club tour. Easy access, plenty of space, and just the right vibe for lingering conversations after the engines cool.

“Excellent weather to go to a winery. There are hundreds of vineyards around Oregon, and I try to take the time to check some of them out when possible. This year however we’ve made it more of a priority. This one is right close to our home (about 15 minutes away). One of my all time favorite wines is the Toasted Cow White Blend from Oak Knoll. Sweet but not too sweet and light and refreshing, perfect for a Summer’s day. Highly recommend.”

“Blizzard wines is one of the most unique wineries I’ve been to and I’m a retired sommelier that saw the rise of Napa Valley in the early 1980’s. Dana and Nick Blizzard started making wine in her parent’s garage and now have expanded with a world class tasting room to go with their world class wines. What really attracted me to become a wine club member was their Grower Champagne selections that they import. Andrew and Michelle are seasoned and educated wine pros that make you feel like family. Thank you Dana for a wonderful evening at the new members event last night!”

“From Silverton, Oregon and I went hunting in eastern Oregon and I harvested an amazing black bear I looked around for a butcher and nobody was taking any wild game. I called the meeting place and they said they were in drop offs were from from 10 AM to 2 o’clock p.m. I was instantly met with an amazing staff that was knowledgeable, kind and very friendly. I ended up meeting a manager that ran their wild game department, which I have to say that woman is just absolutely amazing with information. Very knowledgeable answered every question I had honestly I was a little hesitant about going all the way to Portland area for a butcher, but I have to say there is no finer butcher team in Oregon that I honestly can say I would rather use other than the meeting place I will continue to use them for all of my game processing absolutely amazing team great greetings just an absolute nice people to deal with most booster shops are very blunt. Some can say not very friendly straight to the point and bye-bye not this place this place is energetic very friendly, respectful kind very knowledgeable. You will not find a better butcher shop in Oregon from what I have seen and I have seen just about every butcher shop we have in Oregon. These guys are top notch if you’ve never left a butcher shop completely smiling and having a great experience you should take the drive to Hillsborough and try these guys. Absolutely amazing. Cannot say enough about these people.”

We ordered pork tamales, chicken and carne asada tacos, and cheese quesadilla. It came with salsas, rice, beans and all of the fixings. The service was wonderful. Laura was easy and pleasant to communicate with. She made the entire process so easy. We’ll definitely be using them for another event, but in the meantime we’ll continue to be frequent patrons of their stand at the farmers market.”

“I decided to try The Red Straw and was pleasantly surprised. The bubble tea had great flavor, and the boba itself had a really nice texture, itt seemed like they use quality ingredients. The shop was clean and the location is convenient.
I would have liked to see more exotic or unique flavors on the menu, but what they offer is still good. My only other feedback is that the space could feel a bit more inviting, more comfortable seating and additional décor could make it a place where people want to stay and relax longer.
Overall, a good spot for bubble tea and I would recommend it.”

I would rate this place a 6 out of 5 stars if I could! The workers made me feel very welcome. I especially appreciated their patience when I wasn't sure what drink I wanted. The worker at the register, Nicholas I believe, helped me with the ordering process and had more patience than I knew this younger generation could! The other worker, I didn't catch his name but he had a 'can-do' attitude as well! They seemed as if they ENJOYED working?! Whatever this place has going on, I hope they keep it! I look forward to returning, and getting another 'caribean passion smoothie' from this Jamba.

I ordered two Philly Cheesesteak pizzas online and went to pick them up from this newly opened Domino’s near my home. Despite it being a very busy day—the first day of the New Year and a holiday—I noticed there were only two employees working, both doing an incredible job handling a large number of orders.
Even with the obvious pressure and exhaustion, she remained professional, helpful, and welcoming, completing our order with a genuine smile and taking care of every customer’s needs.

The only small downside right now is that they don’t have Palabok on the menu yet 🍜, but the staff were very friendly and mentioned that it should be coming soon, which is great news! The team working there was helpful and welcoming throughout the visit.
