I had a lovely wine-tasting here for my bday, which Michelle (our server) and Ginger (fluffy friend) helped make this a special and unique experience! I loved the additional champagne tasting in addition to their wine tasting. The education provided by the server and the written information were very insightful. I loved the French influence and creation of the wines, and I tried red cuvée for the first time, which was lovely! I was a big fan of their spin on malbec.
The wine tasting was amazing, the view and atmosphere is great, and the hostess (Michelle) was absolutely wonderful. She took the time to explain each wine and the history behind the winery!
We went here without reservations, and even though there were not many guests, it seemed like the wait was forever between tasting pours. It took something like a full hour for 4 samples. The guiding was brief, just the years aged and the grape blend and could probably have been covered by a menu with the same information accompanying a flight rather than one glass at a time.
If the experience you are looking for is to sit around with an empty glass looking at the scenery of a vineyard, this is the place for you. I wasn’t into any of the wines served either, so that made it worse.
The tasting room at Blizzard is lovely. I wish they would have offered a self-guided tasting because our tasting took a long time for a couple sips of wine per pour. We wanted to try lots of wineries and it seemed like the staff wanted us to sit and enjoy the space; however, it was stressing me out because we were left with empty glasses and staff tending to patio customers while we patiently waited to them to reappear.
Enjoyed a beautiful bottle of Rosé of Pinot Noir here at Blizzard wines. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be returning next time we’re visiting Portland!
Pretty disappointing…. I booked the wine tasting w the most food for Mother’s Day (grand tasting) because I saw nothing about a mother’s day brunch on their website. I buy 4 tickets to make sure they have seats for our two children 1 and 3 and told them in notes while purchasing the tickets. The tickets said arrive at 11, do not be late because we start as a group and may not accommodate late arrivals. We arrive on time at 11 with our two children under 4, and nobody else is there. We are the only people there at this point. They mentioned Mother’s Day brunch but they closed signing up the day before (I would have bought that 1000% if I knew about it ). We get seated and given menus and then they realize we have reservations and already paid for a grand tasting- despite asking for my name when we arrive. They have no high chairs or any accommodations for our children, and it seemed the staff did not know we were bringing children, so we had to hold our 1 yr old the entire time. The food was a charcuterie plate for each of us and they did give our 3 yr old a plate. The tickets said meat and cheese board- but the only meat was 3 pieces of a deli meat rolled in cheese per plate. This place seemed pleasant and the staff were very nice and knowledgeable, I guess I just had much different expectations. I wish the Mother’s Day brunch was better advertised. There were 3 other tables with children and nobody had high chairs, and the wine tasting was certainly a tasting getting a sip and a half per pour. A little of this is comment is just venting because it was not nearly as smooth or elegant as we’d hoped. Because I bought tickets for our 2 children, they did give us a credit for those tickets because the kids didn’t drink or eat much, which I could tell was the staff realizing and winging it, and I thank you for trying atleast. Again this bad experience wasn’t the staff, it seemed the lack of administration or something connecting my expectations of what we bought and the actual experience severely lacked.
Love thier wine and appreciate all the information they share about the wines we try. The staff are always great to chat with learn things from.
If you love Big Bold Red wines, you gotta stop by Blizzard for a tasting. I promise you won’t regret it.
I’m a travel nurse who’s tasted a lot of wine. White wine, mind you. I recently fell absolutely in love with this beautiful state after being here on an extended travel assignment. I just couldn’t say goodbye when the time came, so I decided to make Oregon home! I knew I needed a hobby. It had to be something fun and a way that I could meet new people. I spent an evening at one of Blizzard’s private events with my boyfriend and his mother, who has been a member here for a while.
Needless to say, after one sip of their amazing BIG! BOLD! RED WINE… I was absolutely obsessed! Dana and her assistant, Des, make the best red wine I’ve ever tasted in my life! Words cannot describe how unbelievable the flavors are. I immediately purchased a wine membership here and haven’t looked back. They offer so many unique classes and events for their members and OUR guests to attend and learn the history behind their delicious wines and champagnes. Dana and Nick (owners/winemaker) have such a wonderful story to tell! Their staff is beyond amazing and the vibe is always unforgettable! Nick has a great big personality and will talk your ear off! He makes you feel right at home- like you’re family! While he’ll tell you he “doesn’t make the wine” his passion for wine and its history is very obvious and you can’t help but just want to pick his brain! He makes conversing about wine, fun AND he’s very knowledgeable.. And Dana is well- a superhero to say the least! Thank you guys so much for loving wine as much as I do…..
Great wines and great service
Nice service, environment, and wines. Great choice for a stop in wine country.

The wines and champagne at Blizzard are always very good. Great views from the tasting room and overall good experiences here. You wouldn't be disappointed to stop in for a session.
Vanessa deserves a raise and promotion. We went for our 5 year anniversary, and she made the whole experience feel special. The Blizzard building has a great design and the fact that there is a local champagne club is so special. We will definitely spread the word and be back soon, hopefully to meet ginger :)
We did the Grand Tasting, very nice tasting option. They have very good wines they produce and import small family produced Champagnes. Great experience, Vanessa was fantastic. Will have to go back to do the Champagne tasting!
Very friendly
Very knowledgeable and has been a great resource for our home buying needs! I highly recommend Taya and The Mower Reality group to anyone!
