El Maguey Mexican Restaurant

My wife and I ordered the fajitas. We moved up here from Southern Oregon and decided to try El Maguey as it has a 4.3 rating. We were unpleasantly surprised to bite in to very tough and flavorless steak, flavorless dry chicken, extremely small portions of protein. For $25 it was not a good value and we would like a refund. Thank you

Unfortunately, If I could give this place 0 stars I would. We ordered the combo fajitas to go and it was very disappointing. The chicken was bland. It had no flavor and was extremely dry. The steak was very hard which made it inedible. They sent us with 3 flower tortillas which is crazy for a combo meal that I paid $25 for. The portions of meat and extras were very small for the price. The only good part of the meal was the rice which is sad considering fajitas are known for their flavorful meats but overall very disappointing and will not be back.

Great new find. We lost our favorite place in Dallas when we moved and this place filled the void. Food is delicious, great margaritas, prices are reasonable, and great service. We’ll be back soon.

FOOD POISONED!
On the evening of Feb 12, my wife and I ordered takeout for dinner. Around midnight I was feeling very nauseated and throughout the night I was throwing up out of both ends.
My wife woke up around 3am with the same symptoms.
Today is Feb 14th and we are still feeling sick and weak.
Not the way you to want to feel with your better half on Valentines day. Missing a few days of work as well, was not a good thing.
I was hesitant to leave a review since this was one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, but I felt it was necessary for others who may choose to eat here in the future.

We ordered takeout today for the first time from this restaurant. The delivery was prompt, everything was included. I have no complaints there.
We ordered multiple items to feed 4 people. Everything tasted great and we were really happy. That is, until I almost broke my tooth on this rock that was in my steak fajita dish. I thought maybe it was just a bone, but it’s very clearly a rock.
Shortly after, my son found 2 pieces of short white hair in his cheese nachos. No one in my house has short white hair.
I did receive a refund from the delivery partner, but I do think that taking better care in food prep needs to be revisited.

Chicken fajita salad ⭐⭐⭐⭐
- loved the seasoning on the chicken
- the taco shell is so buttery
- wish it had more vegetables, would have asked for no rice

Camerones and carne de res with spicy sauce ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
- the spicy sauce is actually spicy
- huge portion size

Yes the portions were big but there was no flavor whatsoever in any of the 5 dishes me and my family tried the burritos were filled just with beans and rice with little to no meat and everything tasted like canned tomato soup for god sake just go to Taco Bell would be way better than this place
