Hillsboro Grand Central Bakery rocks!!! I’ve been coming here at least once a week since it opened 2.5 years ago and the staff keeps surpassing my expectations. I love love love the warm greetings that the staff provides to customers who come in. And the way they really want to brighten your day (from adding whipped cream to my coffee cake, giving my kids a cookie when the cafe was really busy, to recognizing regulars and making them feel appreciated!). This place has a lot of potential. I love how it’s in downtown Hilsboro now, and they were very accommodating to requests for my littles (just a little bit of milk in a cup, extra napkins, etc). But for my expectations for the food and the cost, it just wasn’t as yummy as I had hoped.
This is my go to coffee shop, I come here 4-5 days of the week to get my coffee before work. Recently I had the opportunity to try the house made clam chowder, and let me tell you it was great. I eat a lot of clams, so you know I know what I'm talking about ?. I could really taste the ocean in each bite. Owners/management should really consider rebranding as "Clam Central Bakery". Staff are friendly, coffee is amazing, and the clams are even better. 6/5 stars.
