Came in for a placed order and brought coins, a female staff member who was about to ring me up and saw the coins - despite me telling her exactly how much I was giving her in total, felt the need to say "Is that all you have? You don't have bills?" And I said, "Yep, that's all I have." And then she went to go supposedly count the coins with another female staff member at a different counter, and I could see them laughing with each other like they were so annoyed I brought coins. Then, after about 8 minutes, the lady comes back and tells me to have a good day. I told her I still owed them 45 cents, to which she replied, "Oh, I didn't count all that." I do enjoy the food here, but them acting like I'm such an inconvenience for bringing coins is so off-putting. Don't bother coming here unless you have a card because they can't be bothered to count money- even though that's part of running a business...

Overrated, overpriced and overly hyped about sushi restaurant. There's always a long line and for what? So you can have the smallest serving size possible of mediocre sushi? With so many other amazing sushi places in town, I'm not interested in coming here again. Boring.

Amazing sushi ?. Very fresh fish, and everything we had was tasty.The Albacore Tuna tar tar was fantastic. Reminded us of Albacore Poke. Very fresh, perfectly seasoned, the soy sauce put it over the top. Will definitely get again next time.The Volcano was amazing. Don't remember all that was in it- but the heat level was just Sriracha mayo level. So good.I loved the Philly - a basic tuna roll with cream cheese.The mango tango was good- but compared to the others, it was probably our least favorite. Still good and no complaints - the Volcano was just over the top.Can't wait to go back and try some more! Great place in Hillsboro!

We've been here many times, but brought friends visiting from out of town for a really great meal and walk around of downtown Hillsboro while waiting for our table. We got a bunch of small plates to share, and then sushi. It was all fantastic, as usual, but a surprise was their eggplant dish. Even if you think you don't like eggplant, give it a try! The karaage was also popular. These friends have eaten in great spots around the world, and Syun Izikaya is definitely a contender!Vegetarian options: Many things are seasonal, so you can expect dishes made from in season vegetable as well as tofu and other veggie options
