This may be the best Korean food we’ve had in a long time. Everything was fabulous, including the service and $. My husband, especially liked the mackerel. This place will not disappoint!
Service was nonexistent, food portions were fairly small. Bibimbap lacked any flavor and the banchan was very small too

Wow, what an incredible experience! This was our first time trying Umma, and I wish we had tried it sooner! We started off with one of the many excellent Soju offerings and the steamed Mandu, which was perfectly delicate and packed with flavor.
We then ordered the Kimchi Jigae—which was wonderfully fermented, spicy, and perfectly rounded with savory flavor—and the OSAM Bulgogi—which featured some of the greatest depth of flavor of any cuisine I've tried over the years!
The wait staff, aka the chef's daughter, was extremely friendly and did an excellent job managing the entire restaurant by herself! The atmosphere is cozy, so don't be afraid to squeeze in next to someone else because it gets packed!
I can see why they have been recommended to me for years, and I completely understand why they fill up their seats so quickly. We will be back again soon, and will be making this a go-to favorite of the area!

The food was so amazingly good here, it makes me so happy that this exists in Hillsboro. Squid pajeon and bibim mulnaengmyeon are must-try. The banchan are all some of the best I've had. Service was quick too.

Service attitude is really concerning.
Since I came alittle bit after lunch time around 1, there is completely no service during most of my meal time. The squid bugogi is oily but test good, tofu soup seafood has not much seafood in there.
Totally understand the frustration, however, asking us to pay while still eating is disappointing.
Bingbingbap, bugogi, and tofu soup is what we ordered.
Honest review, hope it helps whoever plan on visit

Lives up to their name, this place is amazing. This, in my opinion, is the best place for Korean food in the area. The food is great and the service is friendly. We keep coming here, they are always consistent on the quality, and we love it.
mandatory 18% tip for lunch and 20% for dinner time regardless of party size. Illegal practice in Oregon and owner will harass you over it. do not support this shady place. no wonder why it's closed for dinner service half the time. spent over $100 between 2-3 people each time. lose 80% of revenue for 20% tip lol
The food here is incredible. The flavors are bold and exciting, but well balanced and intriguing. If you are seeking a new experience that still maintained a comfort food feel, I recommend Umma. The woman who runs the place is very friendly, and every individual side dish is wonderful and delicious.
I have only minor familiarity with Korean cuisine, but those who are familiar assure me that this is very authentic.
We originally came here for their kalguksu, but unfortunately, they were out. We ended up ordering other items from the menu, but to be honest, nothing really stood out. The food was just okay. I’ve definitely had better elsewhere. A bit disappointing since we were looking forward to trying their signature dish. Not sure if I’d come back unless it’s specifically for the kalguksu when it’s available.

Great food and service! We were in a rush and ordered the Bassak Bulgogi, Galbi Tang, and Bibimbap. All were delicious and came out quickly. They took the time to explain what to eat with what and how (we clearly needed it).
I love Korean food BECAUSE of this restaurant. I'm picky. I know great recipes. This restaurant serves outstanding dishes. There's something on their menu for everyone.

This adorable hole in the wall has a very homey casual vibe. The kimchi jiggae was savory and warming.....perfect for a rainy day.
I also got a kimchi jeon for the road and couldn't stop from nibbling on it as soon as I got home, crispy and delicious.
I'll definitely be back soon and I'm bringing friends.

The dishes all look good but weren’t #yummyful at all… seafood pancake, spicy squid with pork, fish are all bland! Expect to wait at least 25-30 minutes before you get served bec there was only 1 person, owner(?), serving. Ambience is alright like being in a small house. The menu smells like a dried towel.
Parking: Plenty of parking spaces!

Hamburger meat japchae ? Maybe it's a new trend but I definitely felt like they cheapened out . I would gladly pay the extra $2 for real meat 😸
