The okayest Mexican food in a town with plenty of options on that front.
Every town has that one restaurant that has so-so food and you rarely see anyone eating there but somehow manages to stay open. This is that one for Hood River. I dont know what kind of shady stuff may be happening here (to be careful I make no claim to know anything on that front and make no accusations) but it seems odd that this place still exists after decades (as far as I know) of mediocre food.
Well, try it out if you like, of course. Judging by the reviews some folks seem to like it. Just dont go there with overly high expectations.

Well it was interesting. Not that I want to complain. Just a buyer beware. We were over charged by $18.25. weather either that or my daughters lemonade cost $21.25. wild. It was my birthday. My daughter and I chose to walk to dinner. We were going to go to "El Puerto de Angeles 111" but decided to try somewhere different just for giggles. My daughter liked the waitress and enjoyed her cheese quesadilla w/ rice, beans ($10.50) and a lemonade ($3.25) I ordered a simple chile reaino ($7.00) with the day special margarita blueberry lemonade ($10.00) which was filling. The bill came out to total $48.75. Because it was my birthday and my daughter enjoyed her time I paid ensuring to even include the waitress

The quality to price ratio is misaligned. The food is middling.

Salsa was amazing. Flautas were the best I have had in Hood River so far.The inside is not remodeled, very aged, but we did not mind. It gave a "hole in the wall" vibe. The waiter was an older, friendly gentleman.I would go back again.

Had lunch, split a pork taco plate, 4 tacos, with pineapple red sauce. Yum! Chips were hot and tasty, good salsa, hubs ordered extra picante salsa and said is was tasty. Service was friendly and quick. Definitely made to order. Interesting menu, we will be back to try more.
Food was great...service was incredible. Really unassuming place....amazing prices too.

Great food, quick and friendly service, and an awesome margarita!
We arrived very hungry and weren’t satisfied. We were the only people in the restaurant on a Saturday night. The prices (12-14$) did not reflect the somewhat bland food with chicken that was not good in either of our dishes.
No frills. Compared to the competition, everything may feel a bit understated. But the service is personable; the food and drinks lovingly prepared. Food, especially, feels more authentic. I don't think you could go wrong in choosing to to dine here, and you'd be supporting small & local business.
