Came into Safeway to grab a quick bite and some groceries, while visiting Hood River.
The store is well maintained and as well as fully stocked.
I smelt the aroma of fried potatoes and other things.
I was curious if there was anything that I was able to eat.
I walked to the food counter and had a pleasant conversation with the woman behind the food counter. She is a local and helped me make some decisions.
I love Salad so we walked to the salad area and I tried out the the Sundried Tomato Salad as well as the Original Coleslaw, with a side of potato skins.
I ate everything!!!!
The Sun Dried Tomato Salad is amazing.
The Coleslaw is great it's not too sweet or bitter.
I was pleasantly surprised with the food and my overall experience.

Poorly managed, understaffed, and very slow. Will not be returning despite being a longtime customer.
Slow service. The man who runs the cans return is a bully. The store is super unclean as well.
Checkout lines long enough to write a bad review. Just go to rosehauers, cheaper and faster and better selection
I stopped in for cheap chicken Monday. They had run out of chicken, but they were making more. It was definitely worth waiting for. Some of the best chicken I’ve had in a long time. Papa Frank was my cashier, and he is absolutely amazing! I always get in his line, every opportunity I can. Keep up the good work! Your team is awesome!
I had it delivered for the first time. got one wrong item, and they were out of a few things. But other than that it was good.
I am a very patient person. I understand that a lot of places are understaffed and I take that into consideration. However, waiting to be checked out because of your new policy where we cannot do self checkout with more than 15 items needs to change! Waiting 30 minutes should be unacceptable! Only 1 customer in front of me. Make some of the self checkout for more than 15 items. I feel like I could just scan my items much faster than my experience today.
The men’s bathroom here is discusting! And honestly should be reported to the county. Urinal is broken, floor is flooded! The only toilet has been pissed on and is wet all over from what? Please sanitize
Very disappointed in the new 15 items or less self checkout. I spent more time waiting in line to check out than I did shopping. 30 minutes to checkout because you can't self check out is unacceptable. New system is not good

Terrible customer service agent. I needed help finding an item and this one employee told me to go to the customer service desk so they could help me. I went there and stood there for 10 mins. I could see the customer service person through the 2 way glass. Then a cashier asker if I needed help, I said yes, this guy called the woman behind this glass that I could see her just sitting there staring at me knowing I clearly needed help. She came out rudely and ask what I needed. I told her someone sent me here to help me find an item. She said well if it's not in the aisle it's not here. I said can you please help me look it up. All she said was no, not one ounce of effort to help me. So I told her she wasn't helpful and she was extremely rude. Her name is Shirley P.
The cream puffs are delicious, as are the double chocolate cookies!

Got what I needed on the way to a dirt bike trip.
Do not do pick up if you actually need groceries. They start shopping 30 minutes after the pickup time and then lie to say everything is out of stock.
