On a whim, I made reservations to enjoy Votum's tasting menu to celebrate my husband's birthday. We were really blown away by the level of service, the attention to detail, and the clear passion they have for fine dining and food artistry. It's definitely a special occasion kind of place, but they REALLY did make the occasion feel special - complete with customized printed menus, delicious and creative food, and Michelin star-level service and presentation. We left with full bellies and smiles on our faces! Thank you for a lovely evening. We'd gladly come back for another special occasion in the future.

As we were walking down the street to head to some breweries we stumbled upon the unassuming dining room of Votum. We read the menu outside the door and were intrigued by the idea of a first class tasting menu in such a small town. Did some reading of reviews and snagged a table for the next night. It was TRULY a first class experience. Each course carefully thought out and plated beautifully. The wine pairing was perfect and I loved some unique pairings I would not have expected but was delighted to enjoy. Seafood/fish were the stars and each course highlighted the delights of PNW cuisine. We celebrated our anniversary at Votum last week and we both still comment about the meal every day- it’s that amazing. We had no idea the level of experience we signed up for making a reservation here. After a wine tasting across the street, we entered Votum and were a bit surprised by the austere dining room. The tables are spotlighted in the center. White table clothes. Water and wine glasses. Nothing on the walls. Nothing else. I said, wow, the food must be good because they certainly are making it the only focus. And wow, the food is so good, it really SHOULD BE the only focus. It would steal the show no matter what you put on the walls.Once your experience begins, you know exactly why the food is the center of attention.Nathan runs the front of house seamlessly, making great recommendations and with deep knowledge of the wine and food. You would think there’s a whole team of chefs in back making this magic happen but I think it’s just Sarah back there, which is mind blowing. She is an artist. Each course is stunning. The oysters, arpege egg, caviar, risotto, wagyu- every course was interstellar. We can’t wait to go back for the tasting menu next time we’re in the area.I also really appreciated the music playing in the background, just loud enough to hear without being intrusive. It was a current playlist and welcome juxtaposed to the refined dining experience- music we know and play in the background at our own dinner parties.And the most thoughtful touch- a personalized note and printout of our anniversary menu upon leaving. This place is on the map and hopefully heading toward a Michelin Star.
