White Buffalo Wine Bar & Bistro

I ate at this place for the first time and it was fantastic! This is truly a hidden gem in Hood River, Oregon. If you ever come and visit this little town be sure and stop at the White Buffalo! The fresh baked bread and bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers are to die for! The staff and service was perfect! Truly wonderful!

The White Buffalo is a great little place in Hood River, easily accessed from I-84. We stopped there for dinner after a day of hiking and wildflower viewing. We were blown away by the quality of the wine, well-crafted food, and warm, unpretentious service from the owner. We were looking for outdoor seating so that our dog wouldn't have to wait in a hot car. The owner invited us to sit on the back patio where we sat at simple picnic tables. Perfect! The restaurant exterior is rather unassuming, but don't let that put you off! The food was absolutely delicious! I opted for one of the artisanal raviolis served with a side of perfectly prepared fresh asparagus. My husband had the lasagna, and we shared a small salad. Both entrees were served with homemade bread. Top notch! We will definitely come here next time we are in town.

This place is great! Awesome customer service, phenomenal food, and drinks! I am pregnant do wasn't sure what to drink had a Shirley temple and it was AMAZING! Their bread was so delightful and it was nice to be able to get fresh eggs for our hotel room to make breakfast we also got bread to go and bacon jam so we could make yummy breakfast sandwiches! The atmosphere was nice and it was not super busy when we went either.

We are visiting from out of town and our dinner was amazing! My husband and I shared our dinners. The Chicken Fettuccine was spot on! The chicken browned-caramelized(?) separately and the sauce was creamy perfection with great seasoning! The grownup grilled cheese with bacon and onion jam (maybe a hint of apple?) on crunchy grilled bread! Many thank you’s to your great chef and friendly welcoming staff. PS from my husband the Phriem Japanese Lager was a great choice for these meals.

I cannot believe I never wrote a review for this restaurant back in November when we were visiting Hood River. We stayed at the Westcliff Lodge and asked them for a recommendation for dinner. They told us about White Buffalo and since it was right there we decided to try it out. We fell in love with the food, the owner, the wine. We just enjoyed this night so much we came back the next tight as well and took home 3 quarts of the mushroom soup. Even though it is summer, I wish i had a bowl of that right now. Do yourself a favor and try it out...you won't be disappointed...unless you happen to be there on a night it is closed.

Great little place. Staff was great. Good choice of wines and beer as well as a bar. Dinner was great, had the spinakopia with a salad. Soooo good. Highly recommend it.

The food was great, the menu was varied, the server couldn't have been friendlier, we had the best Pinot Noir I've ever tasted, and the price was reasonable. What else could you ask for?

This is the hidden GEM of Hood River. Authentic FRESH food, excellent wine and wonderful, consistent, happy staff. Atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. Cremini mushrooms couldn't be any better-try them!

We had lots of laughs and full belly! The owner is a fun lady but she does not do breakfast anymore..not even for a $100 bribe. we could have ate at other places on our stay but the food and bar were great. She told us where to find a good breakfast in town.

Wonderful atmosphere and great food.

Doesn't look like there's been a review since 2019 and this may have been a good place at one time, but I showed up on a Saturday evening for dinner and there was no sign of life. No signs with hours, etc, but very difficult to believe that it would be closed on a Saturday. ESPECIALLY without a sign on the door. A woman unloading a car in back, presumably the owner, said that she had been catering elsewhere and was too tired to open. I commiserated, but my jet lagged, weary stomach held a grudge. The food and wine may be good if you can get some, but call before you go.

Excellent spontaneous last minute stop after a long day completing the fruit loop tour.We were warmly greatest on entry, ordered drinks and given menus and told we could seat ourselves. We chose outside seating at the picnic benches. We grabbed a few starters and had a couple drinks before heading back to Salem. The prosciutto wrapped dates & parmesan, stuffed jalapenos with sugar smoked bacon, white wine mushrooms with bread and sizzle shrimp were all super delicious and perfect for sharing. We were asked if we wanted them to come out as they were ready and that worked out perfectly. Everything was fantastic and this chef really knows how to layer their flavors to create a wonderful mouth explosion with every bite!Fantastic service and location with various wines by the glass and for purchase by the bottle also. Clean interior, spotless bathrooms and exterior. Masks required and all staff were wearing their masks correctly. We will be back! Thank you so much.

I ordered the sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries to be added onto my hotel room. While there was a slight confusion, Sara went above and beyond to make things right. The strawberries were giant and delicious. The wine was lovely and the cheese plate was perfect. Really great food and even better customer service!

Great food, great atmosphere. Nice cozy little wine bar. The bartender was so nice, and the jalapenos were amazing. Definitely check this place out!
