They had me at bubbles! Jubilee is located in a super cute historic building in downtown Independence. The interior is such a bright spot, especially on gloomy days and it smelled amazing. The owner recommended a Cremant and it was lovely! I took macarons home to my family and they were the best chocolate raspberry macarons we had ever tasted! Highly recommend!!

This wasn't our first time here. Our first time we did enjoy our treats and we appreciate the gluten free option. But it wasn't a noticeably welcoming experience. However my niece's birthday was coming up and I thought Jubilee would be a cute place to do brunch. And it is.

I messaged Jubilee via Facebook and had a very pleasant conversation. We discussed if we are allowed to bring in balloons or other birthday themed items (We are ☺️) Per Jubilee I scheduled a reservation.

As it got closer to the day of the reservation I messaged again to ask if they have a drink menu. I didn't see any menus or an actual website for Jubilee. But I had kids coming with me and thought I'd check out the options ahead of time. No drink menu is available. It was helpful to see a brunch menu. And then they asked me again if I had a reservation. Since I was messaging via Facebook again I figured it would be quick for them to scroll up in the conversation. Or they have a reservation list and could my name match an existing reservation. That was a missed opportunity to pay attention to detail.

We went on a Saturday while the Saturday Market was going on and there was absolutely no visible reason to have made a reservation. Which I would have thought the Market would bring them MORE business. The food seems to be fairly clean eating compared to many places, we appreciate that. We ordered some tray that are shareable. On the menu it specified quick bread and grapes. There was another missed opportunity to pay attention to detail. It came with some sort of sweet bread and green apples. It would have been nice to have been given a heads up on the switch. Or for the menu to say seasonal fruit or just fruit. That way we could have made a more informed decision as there was one of us with an allergy to apples.

The gravy for biscuits and gravy comes with mushrooms. Some people like it, we didn't care for mushrooms in the gravy.

Not really rude but definitely not the friendliest service. Maybe she's shy or has an autoimmune disease. She shouldn't have to disclose that either.) I try to take that into consideration.

Scored lowest for service due to lack of website, online menu, asking if I have a reservation when I had one (using the same messaging avenue), and overall demeanor (I think it was the owner who was messaging and served us). Still a beautiful space.

Whoever is driving a black jeep wrangler with your logo in it needs to learn how to drive.

Customer service on phone and in store both sub par to say the least.

Couldn’t recommend this place enough. I’m a sucker for a good dessert and this place met my expectations and more. I got the cheesecake, lemon cake, and brownie. They were all so delicious, I went back the next day and got 4 more brownies. *they were closed for the next 2 days and then I leave town, not that I’ll eat 4 brownies in one sitting*. I will definitely be back my next visit!

We ordered a variety of goodies, and they all look so fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the cheesecake and peanut butter cupcake. The young lady who helped us was very helpful and had a great vibe! Thank you.

Parking: This is located in downtown Independence, so your parking may not be as close as you would like on busier days, but it is free.

Let me start by saying that I've always enjoyed the desserts at Jubilee, and this review is not about the quality of their confections, but the behavior of someone from the buisness last night has soured my opinion. I was driving on River Rd. at about 10:30 last night, suck behind a car going about 10mph under the speed limit. This was obviously very annoying, but more concerning to me was that a Jeep with the Jubilee logo on their spare tire cover was tailgating me in an extremely dangerous way. River Rd. is winding and has almost nowhere to pass for the entire length of the road from Independence to Salem. There was absolutely nothing that I could do to get around the slow driver, meanwhile the Jubilee Jeap was behind me as close as they could possibly be, swirving back and forth in the lane, and flashing their lights at me. This was extremely dangerous driving and I finally had to pull off the road, not because of the slow car in front of me, but because I was completely uncomfortable driving in front of the Jubilee vehicle. Not only was the Jeep's driving extremely dangerous, but it was not cool, and especially not to do in a company car where your buisness is reflected by your behavior on the road.

I have had their cupcakes - chocolate with chocolate icing - was wonderful. Others were good, too. The lemon bars were good as was the berry bar. However, the tiramisu (and I am a connoisseur of tiramisu) I found to be unpleasant. I appreciate a soaked sponge but this one was beyond soaked, boardering on soup. The soak was too sweet and did not have enough coffee flavor. It tasted like grainy syrup. At $10 or so for the dessert, I would not/will not be having it again. It is also EXTREMELY expensive for anywhere but especially for our little town.

Long time customer. Desserts lately are just missing the mark. Overly sweet and starting to feel overpriced. Not sure if the ingredients have changed or just the prices, but we won't be back soon.

Super good brunch! Not a huge menu which is great because all the main breakfast items are covered so you can order quickly. Great drinks too.

What a fun little place. We had an iced mocha. They charge per shot , not size and our coffee was spendy but delicious. They had house made macarons for St Patty’s Day and they were so cute! I would definitely recommend stopping by when driving thru independence!

The only draw back to this place is the location. Put this place un Portland and Seattle and there would be lines out the door. In sleepy Independence in the winter, not so busy. The deserts here are on par with any place I've ever been. The chai bread pudding with whiskey sauce is fantastic. The creme brule and tarta also fantastic. I'm not a champagne person but they also have champagne and cocktails. I had the cappuccino and my wife had an Americano, both were great.
