“I used to love GC. Haven't been there in a year but very disappointing. First thing, a manager/owner (?) Was reaming one of the waitresses near the bar. Embarrassing for everyone. Very unprofessional. We had Ingiri and rolls. Obviously they have more than doubled the RICE and thin cuts of salmon and tuna as well as the rice on the rolls and less inside the rolls. We DID cut more than half of the rice off. Cutting back? Not worth the price. The waitresses were awesome, they were fast and efficient. *To the manager/owner: No wonder you need help. Who would work for a BULLY like you? You should state somewhere on the menu if the igira is farm raised or wild. I won't be back not only because of the food 'cutbacks' but I won't go anywhere that treats their employees like that. Many saw and heard you.“

“Sayuri's sushi would be considered excellent in a major city. That a sushi bar of this quality should be in a small town in Eastern Oregon makes it even more noteworthy. In addition to serving absolutely fresh fish, the chef at Sayuri takes his rice as seriously as a sushi chef in Tokyo or Taipei. As a Lonely Planet author and self-professed food snob, I recommend Sayuri highly.“
