On May 31st 2025 We went up the tramway... The food was good, The weather was perfect, But the views were outstanding! The ride up takes about 15minutes... And in that time you climb about 3700 feet in elevation To a grand height of 8150 feet at the top of the tram! When you get up to the top there is trails you can hike up to that gives you a multiple different views where you can see over 100 miles down valleys and towns... But there was lots of snow so if you want to hike...
You don't come here for the food or service, but for the atmosphere. Stop Mt Howard, you reach this location by taking the tramway from the South end of Wallowa Lake. They have a small selection of food options and a much more robust offering of alcohol.

So fun! It was super busy the day we were there so our waitress was stretched thin. She took care of us and even apologized for not being more attentive. The food was good, but there are few options for vegetarians.
