Excellent quality, short wait, takes online orders. The Mac was perfectly al dente and the Tri-tip was perfectly smoked and tender.Parking: Food cart pod with plenty of on-lot parking (could fit 40 cars easily) and more street parking on 2nd Ave or Holly.

Tri tip is the best I’ve ever had! The sauces are all amazing, hard to pick a favorite. Pulled pork is always solid, chicken too, coleslaw is good, really everything they make is great! If you haven’t tried it yet you’re missing out.

Tried the tri tip sandwich, asked for onions on the side (never got them). Smaller than I expected, bun was cold so meat cooled off quickly, was very little sauce on it so dry. Took home and discovered large piece of grissle. Will not order again. Also ordered the bake potato special with pulled pork topping. Flavor of pulled pork was good but potato not baked enough, had definite bite to it. Not sure if would try this one again.

I normally don't leave less than stellar reviews, but I would hate for someone to share my experience. I've been to bbq joints all over the place including a couple in K.C. while on business. I'll start by saying that the staff is very nice. What I don't understand is why it takes so long to get your food. Once my order was placed it took nearly 20 minutes to get my food. I ordered a sandwich and some mac and cheese. Nothing should be cook to order unless you're doing a burger or fries or something like that. Everything I ordered should be ready to go except for assembling the sandwich and boxing up the mac. Setting aside the wait, I wanted to taste the food. I'd read many positive reviews on google and decided it would be worth a try. I'm sorry to say I was very disappointed. I'm a mac & cheese snob. I like it to be nice and creamy and the noodles shouldn't be over done. The mac & cheese was very pasty. The noodles were very soft and gummy and the cheese kind of gloppy would be a good way to describe it. I wouldn't order it from here again. I chose the tri-tip sandwich because when I go to a bbq place, I want to try the beef. Again I was pretty disappointed. When I think tri-tip, I think tender and juicy, sliced right and well seasoned. Unfortunately this missed on all counts. It says smoked on the menu description, but I wouldn't be able to tell you if it was or wasn't smoked, I couldn't taste it. The tri-tip was cubed up, which is an odd way to serve this cut of meat. Cubing it up made it chewy and a little hard to eat. It seemed a little overcooked and a little dry for my liking. Maybe that's why it is smothered in what they call bbq sauce. Way, way too much sauce. Maybe if the sauce were complimentary it wouldn't be as bad to have so much sauce. I'm not a huge fan of ketchup, but the sauce tastes like ketchup with a little seasoning in it. I personally don't like someone else putting the sauce on for me because if I don't like it, it's already on there. I will say, that the portion size is pretty large, in this case I don't know if more is better. Maybe they had an off day. I was there pretty early, around 1:00 pm, so I know things hadn't been sitting around all day. I'll probably give these guys another chance just to see if the results are similar. Overall, I wouldn't suggest eating here unless you really like ketchup and very soft and sticky mac & cheese.

Amazing Bbq! Every bite was worth savoring. The gentleman who served us went out of his way to get our meal to us. He gave us all the delicious bbq sauces and we really enjoyed the spicy hot one! Can't wait till we are back in the area for a 2nd go round!

I wanted to leave 1.5 stars, but unfortunately that's not an option so I suppose I'll be generous and give them 2. I've been here a few times wanting to support local and hoping it will get better, but every time I find myself disappointed. Although the portions are quite large and you feel like you're getting a lot for your money...I find the quality of the food to be lacking. I'll start with saying the bbq sauces they have all taste like ketchup ( one a more sweeter ketchup, and another they call "spicy" which just tastes kind of spicy and still like ketchup ) If you don't want your food smothered in this ketchup you have to specify if you want sauce to put it on the side while ordering which they don't relay to you while doing so. I've had the pulled pork sandwich, portion was a good size. Bigger than what is listed ( not good for business because they're loosing money ) but nice for the costumer. Unfortunately the meat was dry, and crunchy on some parts.. almost like a carnitas.. I've also tried the tri tip sandwich. Again the portion was big, but it was very sloppy. The onions weren't all cut the same direction and were all different sizes. What got me most of all was the meat wasn't sliced correctly which made it incredibly chewy and hard to eat. The Mac and cheese is hit or miss when you come depending on the day... and the coleslaw tastes like it came out of a bag. If you don't call or order ahead be prepared to wait anywhere from 20-40 minutes even though nothing should be cook to order and there aren't people in front of you... One good thing is there are quite a few tables with chairs, so if it's nice out you're able to sit outside and enjoy the sun while you wait forever.

Best BBQ in Eugene area that I've had! The smoked chicken was so good and the brisket was a work of art. But actually, everything was delicious. Reminds me of Papa's Soul Food...only

We had Smok'n Gingers cater for our wedding and I could not be happier with their service and friendliness. There was no stress with them arriving and setting up. We ordered brats, pulled pork, mac & cheese, coleslaw, and scallop potatoes, which were all beyond delicious. They provided plates, napkins, silverware, tables w/ linens, and leftover containers. I was seriously impressed with their kindness towards us and our guests! We found out that they had done an event at University of Oregon that morning, but still made it on time and with smiles and good conversation even if they might've been tired and stressed. We cannot wait to visit them again, and I highly recommend them for any event!!

First time trying this place. Had the pulled pork sandwich, Tri-tip sandwich, Mac n cheese with pulled pork on it and the bbq beans... all amazing! Tri-tip was tender and flavorful, pulled pork delicious, and Mac n cheese quite yummy. Had the sauces on the side since I didn't know which I'd like the best. Sweet heat is where it's at for me. Plenty of food for 2 people with some leftovers too. Will definitely be back!

I had heard the Mac and cheese was good, and decided to try it on this cold, rainy day when I was in need of some serious comfort food. I was torn between the tri-tip and pulled pork. Pulled pork can be hit or miss, I hate when it's all fatty and slimy. I ended up with the pulled pork, and happy I did. It was so good! Not fatty or slimy at all, and it would also be super good on a sandwich. I liked the original bbq sauce too. The mac was also tasty. The portion is huge. It's a great value for the money, the don't skimp on anything. If you're in the area, check them out!
