Passing thru, grabbed a pulled pork and was not disappointed. Good size, good flavor, and included a little bark.
Let’s start by saying, I have never left a negative review for a small business, ever. One bad review, once in all my life. I’m not a petty Karen. Believe me or don’t. I don’t even know how to describe our dissatisfaction, disappointment and dang hungry we are after spending over 60 bucks on two plate lunches that neither of us could eat. My husband and I had gotten up early and went hunting in the morning. Just after 12 o’clock we decided to look around for the restaurants in the area and find some good barbecue. The closest one that was talked up by all the glowing reviews was 45 minutes away to Salem but we were super hungry and wanted a hot home cooked meal. So we ordered ahead, of course had to pay through a third party app, that, by the way, sent us to the old closed restaurant so when I got there, I was a little perplexed. We figured it out and arrived at a bar with a totally different name and about three or four patrons in there. No cook because he went to the store to get the ingredients for the food which why there was only Cole slaw, potato salad and Mac n cheese. Two of the side dishes that we ordered, we found out after paying and after we got there to pick it up. So, that stuff wasn’t even made yet and at this point it was 1:15 on a Saturday a very sunny Saturday. Now, I looked at the menu closely and nowhere did it say, that we were going to get, day before, heated up served almost cold, and extremely dry, like inedible dry, pulled pork, that was either nuked to room temp or just taken out of the fridge and thrown in a pot. The ribs, under the dried skin on top, which was the only meat out of all 3 that had any salt as an ingredient, meat was cooked to the bone and was tender under the bark/outside meat part. The brisket and zero rub, no salt, nothing. Was also cold but not near as dry as the pork. But the weirdest part of this barbecue, the absolute obsession with horseradish.. For whatever reason, this cook believes that horseradish needs to be in the sauce in the coleslaw and in the potato salad. So after every bite, all items had the same horseradish after-taste. Can’t tell you about the other two items we wanted to get because they didn’t have those two items but I would not be surprised if they had horseradish as well. So that was a lot of money for not being able to eat your lunch after a Long Morning of hunting. But let’s top it all off with the curly, white hair I found in the macaroni and cheese, when neither my husband, nor I have curly white hair. Pitcher provided below. I am supposed to be refunded for the banana pudding that we ordered that didn’t make it in the bag because, well, they haven’t made it yet. The way that is supposed to happen, since I know my bank sent me a notice saying the money was already taken out of my bank for the meal, I left my phone number with the bartender/server, who by the way, was the most pleasant part of this entire experience. She said when the cook/owner comes back (with the ingredients for the stuff that we couldn’t order), he would give me a call to refund my missing item so that may be a thing that still happens, but I’m no longer a betting woman. I took a 63.00+ 10.00 tip and bet that the reviews were trustworthy and I was gonna, at worst, have some ok bbq. Look how that turned out. It ends with a handful of Cheese Its, non horseradish flavor.
Parking: Parking was easy.

WARNING: Whatever they have for ordering does not work, Toast?!?I placed an order for delivery two weeks ago an order of brisket lean and macaroni and cheese. The brisket was full of fat, one piece was lean. The mac and cheese was missing the cheese. By the time my order was delivered the mac and cheese was all over the bag.I have tried ordering through the app, no response from restaurant. That was a week ago, don't bother trying to call no answering, just a message "calls were not accepted"Today another mess trying to order only this time they answered the phone! Wow!It was lunchtime, but Turkey would not be ready for another hour. When I called I was told half an hour, I wasted my time going to pickup Nothing!I guess you need to know the secrets to ordering from this restaurant!I Would Not Recommend This Place!!

We were recently in Salem visiting family for two weeks and were hosting a birthday party for a large group. We walked into Campbell’s around 11am and were greeted by David (the meat guy) and SuAnne. We explained that we were hosting a large party and asked for recommendations. Not only did David provide recommendations, he brought out various items for us to taste. Amazing customer service!! They were both so friendly and accommodating. We placed our order and asked if they could deliver. Sure enough, they immediately said they could. Now to the food review ~ oh my goodness ~ David’s BBQ was incredible! The brisket was out-of-this-world and the pork ribs had just the right chew. We also had the dirty rice which was a real hit with everyone and, the potato salad was a WOW!! The personal attention from SuAnne and David was truly impressive and appreciated. We currently live in Maryland and have never experienced this level of customer service at home. If you want outstanding BBQ and excellent customer service ~ Campbell’s is definitely the place to go! We will be back!

I’ve tried this place a few times. (Hoping it would be better, but it’s terrible)The last time was a meat combo thing that came out to $100 bucks. There was barely any food. I couldn’t believe that it was that much for that little. I will not buy from them again. I will stick to Cindy Lou’s and Roger That BBQ.

Boy is it hard to find good bbq, but this place doesn't disappoint. Excellent brisket, and the sides were on point. Don't pass up on the sauces either, they're awesome.

This was our family's first time at Campbell's, and I must say that everything was excellent. The brisket was unbelievably tender and moist, and the special spices in every recipe really made every dish unique. This is my new favorite barbecue in Salem.
If you want genuine bomb southern style BBQ then this is the place. Everything we’ve tried is fantastic, we’ve been 4 or 5 times now. Huge shoutout to the person preparing the food cause it’s also CONSISTENT. Same flavors and quality every visit.Brisket, pulled pork, sausage, turkey, it’s just all so so good. Usually you’ll find a BBQ place has great sides and okay meat, or great meat and just okay sides, but this place has it all. The sides are equally fantastic! MacNcheese, dirty rice, beans, potato salad. And what’s even better is that it’s all FAIRLY priced. No, it’s not “cheap” food but you absolutely get a huge amount of food for a very reasonable price. I’ve tried other places with much lower quality BBQ charging much more. This is our new go-to place when we want some good reliable BBQ.

Finally, a BBQ joint where the meat is actually edible!!!!! I'm from the south, this place was very decent and I'll return. My only complaint is the two gentlemen behind the counter were not very outgoing or interactive with the customers, one just started and hadn't even tried the food to give recommendations on anything and the other one, longer brown hair, just had a flat personality. Other than that, the food was good!

Amazing food- I typically douse things in BBQ sauce, and even I loved how flavorful this was w/o extra sauce- what they put on was just enough. And the staff was so friendly and knowledgeable, I got the pulled pork sandwich and loved it. Fyi, the beans are spicy, but also v flavorful.
