We drove down from Spokane for my mom’s birthday. Unfortunately we made it about a half an hour before they closed. So we asked if they would be willing to take in a late party, and they were super flexible and happy to take us in. The service was top notch. The food, OMG the food was absolutely amazing! My tacos were so juicy and the carne asada just pulled apart. The waitress was amazing through our dinner. Always stoped to ask if we needed anything or how things were. I am a sucker for good tacos, I will definitely make the 5 hour drive one way just for more of those tacos.

Cinco de Mayo is a great establishment! The staff was very responsive and accommodating and clearly worked together well. They provided chips, salsa and refried beans to start. Their menu is extensive.

The worst tex mex We've ever had. I ordered chicken mole, it tasted like canned enchilada sauce. Husband ordered a mojito that tasted like lime syrup on a snow cone. They were slow taking our order but food came quickly, never a good sign. Guess we are spoiled to live in an area that has a number of authentic Mexican restaurants.

With better service, our experience could have been a lot better. The food was good for Americanized Tex-Mex. Which is fitting for a Mexican restaurant named after an American holiday that Mexicans don’t celebrate. We waited 20 minutes for our waitress to even come ask us about drinks. The Margarita was decent. I liked how they offered complimentary bean dip with the chips and salsa. However the beans were bland, and had little to no flavor. They obviously were not stewed with Onion, Bell Pepper, Celery, Garlic, and Epazote. As would be fairly traditional. We got the deluxe burritos, that were packed full of meat! A generous portion of meat served inside, with everything else on top. Starting with canned enchilada sauce, then cheese, sour cream and guacamole. Everything is just cheap, and lazy here. Seems like it’s all stripped down to accommodate a bland American palette. Can’t imagine too many people in Eastern Oregon know anything about authentic Mexican Cuisine. So I guess it’s a non-issue for most of them.
