Nicely decorated.
AC in window unit didn’t get room cool until 2:38am.
TV didn’t work to connect with Netflix so we used our laptop.
Heard trains over the sound of the window AC unit
No fresh milk for coffee - just pods of chemicals disguised as “cream”
Odd to enter and leave through the back through the kitchen.
Restaurant closed Sunday-Tuesday.
Not a great stay, especially for $211/night.
Highlight was warm welcome, conversation and dinner recommendations from young woman when we arrived. She’s a keeper!
Dinner at Side A Brewery was excellent.
Coffee and ambiance across the street at Local was wonderful
Our stay here was absolutely amazing!! The hotel itself was welcoming and cozy. I definitely would recommend this place to friends and family. Bobbie welcomed us and even offered us a glass of wine since the restaurant was not open the day we arrived. Thanks again for the wonderful experience.❤️
This adorable hotel was the perfect stay! I would 10/10 recommend staying here again. We needed a place close to our friend’s house & this hotel was within walking distance. The charm of this boutique hotel is what makes it so unique. It was easy to check in & the staff was super friendly/accommodating. The rooms were adorable & it had everything we needed! It felt like we were staying at a friend’s house but with privacy. We didn’t get a chance to eat at the restaurant, but definitely want to if we visit again. There is also a cute coffee shop called The Local across the street that has ice cream, coffee, and delicious breakfast sandwiches. If you’re looking for an aesthetic place to stay in La Grande, you have to check out The Landing!
Full disclosure: I have not stayed here, but I wanted to. Plans changed and I had to cancel.
I booked a room here through Hotels.com. I learned my lesson once I tried to cancel the booking and they refused to refund (or even cancel) the booking when I requested it.
The owner, Karen, is a saint. She had the generosity to offer me a refund if I could get the reservation cancelled via Hotels.com. I didn’t ask for this—she offered it willingly!
A laudable testament to the level of hospitality that you can expect from her. I never even had to follow up—she simply refunded me the money once the reservation was cleared.
Thanks again, Karen. I hope I can stay one day and give you a hug. Until then, may your largesse come back to you tenfold.
I booked a stay here because it was on Adams Avenue (the main street in town) and within walking distance to local restaurants and bars. The chain hotels near the highway are nice and preditcable, but aren't around many services and didn't seem like they'd make for a pleasant stay. The Google Maps listing describes the place as a three-star hotel, so I thought it would be nice to splurge for one night on my road trip.
Thing is, it's not a three-star hotel. It's more like a hands-off rent-by-owner property with a part-time restaurant attached. The restaurant is very small, and open only Wednesday through Satuday for three hours each day at an early dinner. (The restaurant website says it's open for coffee and tea in the mornings, but it wasn't when I stayed.) There is absolutely no staff on site -- it's completely hands-off. Guests enter with a pass code into the kitchen area of the empty restaurant, and climb the narrow stairs in the eeirly empty restaurant.
The building is old and creaky, with rattling iron radiators and floors that squeak loudly with every step. The rooms don't have thermostats! My room was upstairs and faced the main street through a public balcony. Instead of opening the shades to enjoy the view, I had to keep them closed for my prviacy, lest someone peer in from that balcony. Maybe it was fortunate that the restaurant was closed, since the noise in this rickety old building would've been unbearable.
Practically, the room was totally adequate and everything worked fine. But these accomodations are far more quirky than cozy, far more fussy than restful.
Absolutely not a three-star hotel, and therefore not at all worth the rate that's much higher than the other choices in this market.
Maybe this is the ideal stay for some visitors, but after a long drive it's not at all what I had anticipated or wanted.
Great old hotel with modern updates. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, nice open lobby/lounge to sit with a drink and a book. Handy to a great cafe across the road for breakfast.
Room was a little on the warm side, but hosts gave us a fan to use. Would stay here again, for sure.
Very cool hotel and restaurant. We had a great time.
Ate at the restaurant "The Laurel". Didn't stay at the hotel.
Very impressed with the menu and service. Super nice people. Highly recommend

Easily the best place I have stayed in La Grande. Very comfy. Updated rooms. Restaurant and bar downstairs is really good.

The room is very large with plenty of space. Unfortunately being on the lower level I could hear the guests walking around above me (floors are very creaky due to the buildings age) The windows on the door in front of the bed had windows with tint but i was able to see in. I called, and Mkayla was able to tape paper over the windows to help with privacy. The shower and bathroom were spacious and beautiful, but unfortunately, there was no body wash available for use...the container was empty, and when i travel, i dont take my own due to getting custom to having them provided when i stay in hotels. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows not so much. I was super disappointed and concerned with how dirty the white comforter on the bed was. There were lots of questionable stains and appeared unwashed. I sent an email and a txt in regard to my concerns just in case there was a lack of awareness with the rooms upkeep. I never received a response.

Dined with delightful people from the local hospital. The other entrees and appetizers looked amazing. The hummus tray was delicious! I'd love to return and try other dishes. Very polite services. Impressive Old Fashioned although I didn't drink it. I asked the bourbon that is used. Buffalo Trace!👏 As a Kentuckian that is impressive!😁 Currently navigating alpha gal,and this team accommodated. The mammalian foods like steak and the bacon goat cheese appetizer as well as the buttered toasty bread with incredible looking cheese would make this a definite restaurant to visit once well and eating more typically! Thank you!

Nice clean rooms, not much service, though sufficient. The morning coffee service is very good.

We had a great time at the Landing Hotel! Very quaint, comfortable beds, delicious farm to table restaraunt downstairs and yummy coffee / breakfast across the street in the morning. It’s quiet, with a lovely area for reading and relaxing. Highly recommend a stay if you’re passing through La Grande!
