We were encouraged to visit this establishment and were grateful for the advice! Apparently been around for years and standards never dropped. Great food definitely worth a visit

The outdoor dining makes this a memorable Italian experience. They have heat lamps for the chilly and the atmosphere felt like Trastavere in Rome. The food was delicious as you can order Antipasto, Primo and Seccondi or any combination you prefer. Expansive wine list and great service. Zach was our waiter and he was attentive and knowledgeable. Would recommend for a group celebration or a romantic evening. Our table had the Ling Cod, the Veal Vinetto, Pork Tenderloin and the Bistecca...all excellent. Favorite dessert? The Limone Cake and the Affogato! YUM!

I’ve been to this restaurant many times, so I chose it for a special birthday celebration. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a big disappointment, and I won’t be coming back or recommending it to anyone.

First, we waited nearly an hour and a half for our food—way too long. On top of that, despite spending $260 for the meal and noting it was a birthday, the staff completely forgot the complimentary Prosecco. It might seem like a small detail, but it took away from the whole celebratory feel.

Overall, it was an unpleasant experience and definitely not worth repeating.

Everyone's food was good. I had the wild boar and mushroom fettuccine. Meat was a bit tough and I didn't have any mushrooms in mine. Could have used a bit more cream sauce also. I also needed to add salt and pepper. Way way under seasoned. Dessert was very good!

Riccardos is a real gem. I love that the menu lists the local suppliers. The wine list is arguably the best in town now that Genoa is gone. The wait staff is knowledgeable about the menu (including special details like that the chanterelles were picked near oak trees for better flavor) and directed us to a different wine than our original thought (it was excellent). I had rack of lamb and sautéed greens, my companion had the pork tenderloin with fresh veggies. The tables are closely spaced but we could still have conversation which I appreciate. Prices are fair and comparable to the quality of ingredients and talent of the service. The owner is often on site which is a treat. Highly recommend for that special occasion

We were just blown away by every part of this restaurant experience. Riccardo’s was generous enough to donate to the Big Brother/Big Sister auction and we were lucky enough to buy it. The service was exemplary, from the young woman who seated us to our most friendly, helpful and attentive server. He expertly guided us through the menu, recommended a perfect bottle of wine and chatted as he had time. My penne pasta was over-the-too delicious and we were pleased to find sturgeon on the menu-excellent! As we found room for tiramisu, Riccardo himself strolled by and he and my husband shared north side of Chicago stories. What a friendly and wonderful place-we will definitely be back!! Thank you!

Riccardo’s was recommended to us by a dear friend and we were quite impressed. Zack, our wonderful waiter made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant, the food was top notch, and we could tell that there was top notch ingredients that made it so. We’ll be back?

Delicious fresh pasta with mushrooms and onions blended to perfection; soup with a subtlety rich stock and perfectly sized pieces of beef and potato; crisp salad adding texture for the pillow soft pasta; paired with a smooth and velvety red wine(Brunello); finished with decadent chocolate cake and chocolate gelato, espresso (Illy). Marcos waited our table and was upbeat, knowledgeable, and didn't miss a beat in providing excellent service as he served excellent food. He described the menu in mouth- watering style so we are eager to return soon. Thank you for a wonderful first experience which definitely will not be our last!
