Old school feel here, not much has changed in 40 years. Food is good, and everyone working is kind and friendly. Check out Charlies while passing through, its worth a stop

In a word, terrible.
I got the #2 combo with a side of rice and beans. The beans were dry and rice over cooked. The burritos came with chopped ham on top, an unknown white substance inside, I suspect was mayonnaise, and far too much grease. The taco, when lifted out of the aluminum had a hefty amount of grease under. Everything was severely under seasoned, lacking even salt, let alone any flavors that would be remotely considered Mexican. Even the chips lacked salt, and were cold.
The restaurant had an unidentifiable smell throughout, musty, with a hint of something unknown.
If you’re stopping here and expecting even a passable meal, lower your expectations… like, to the ground.

This place is a national treasure. They told me the "locals only" beer was out, but I wonder if maybe it really is just for locals.

Known as the local town hang out. Good food and a good spot to stop when passing through. Has lots of town history, be patient with small town living lifestyle. ?

The German Pizza was a wonderful surprise Full of great toppings and so much flavor I ate way more than I normally do. The Long Island tea was one of the best Long Island teas that I've ever had. A great place to enjoy our 42nd Anniversary.

Love eating there and loved working there when pregnant with oldest daughter. In 97/98. Daughters fathers family has worked there & good friends with the owner; the family even has a few dishes named after them. Pam's tostada. Tammy pizza(?) Jennifer pizza(?).

Dinner at Charlie's is one of those AMAZING experiences in Madras - just as waking up to the beautiful view of the Cascade range. For those of us born & raised in Madras - were lucky enough to remember the days when Charlie himself would come out of the kitchen & spread his special kindness & joy to all his customers in the dining area. A tradition his family, especially son Mike, still carry on today!My ultimate favorite is a Mexican Pizza - available ONLY at Charlie's Pizza!
