I hadn’t eaten here for several years, back then I would have rated Rios 10 out of 10.
We were so disappointed with the meal I had with my granddaughter for her 13 th birthday.
First and worse the restaurant was uncomfortably Hot way to hot to enjoy a meal . The meat ( carne asada )was tough , tasteless and dry . The whole meal lacked freshness and flavor.
Our server was friendly and professional.
For the price I wouldn’t recommend Rios for your night out .

So bad I have no idea how or why this restaurant has 4.5 stars, the waiters were very rude and short with their responses. The food had no flavor. absolutely plain. They filled the drinks with more ice than the actual drink.

I feel like I have to leave a review because the reviews are what brought us to this restaurant, and it was BAD. The food is at least $20 per plate and the menu describes plates that are very different than what is actually served. We had the shrimp enchiladas and carne asada plate. The shrimp was fishy tasting and it had cold frozen corn- not sautéed or grilled or anything. It was like it was fresh out of the bag. The cilantro was wilted and the verde sauce tasted like it was out of a can. It was also mixed with a spicy Mayo you’d find at a sushi restaurant with sesame seeds on top… not authentic in any way. The carne asada was a weird consistency, and the veggies were steamed- not grilled and doused in the verde salsa (canned). The beans were so watery they slid all over the plate and the rice was crunchy and dry…

We were very excited by reading the reviews and looked forward to visiting. Unfortunately this was not the experience we were looking for. Would not recommend spending $70+ for two plates here for lunch.

Google said the prices are between $10 - $20, but that's not true. It's going to be at least $17 a plate. It's good though and worth it if that's how much you want to spend. The service was great to.

Their Chorizo fundido is the best I've had in a while. The cazuela tapatia was also sooo good. A must when in Madras.

I'm sorry I didn't take a picture of the fantastic food! It was amazing. There was only one man working when we got there and 9 of us, and we weren't the only customers. He was awesome! He made sure we had chips, salsa and drinks right away and checked on us often. I wished there were 10 starsI could give Rio. It's a MUST when you're in Madras

In this mexican restaurant the food is very good, and the meat was excellent. Maybe the guy should smile a little bit more! Anyway, fast service as usual in the US, prices are more or less the same everywhere, so if you want to enjoy some mexican food, this is one of the best places in town.

Made a special request for chilaques and which were delicious. The sauces and salads are not spicy so we should have made that request as well. Service was great and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Best prawn ceviche (ceviche sayulita) I have ever had! So much flavor. The watermelon del Rio margarita was delicious. So happy we stopped here on our way to Bend.

The food was SOOO good! We had fish tacos, a burrito, and the fajita quesadilla. The chipotle creme is to die for! Fresh guac and some really good margaritas! We ate outside with our dog. The people were amazing and so was the food. Will definitely be back when we come through town. ?❤️
