Good luck making any complaints at all. They won't take you seriously. This is just a dive bar with a fancy name. I was told they microwave the mac and cheese in the back. You can't charge that price while you're microwaving food. I can just do that at home.

One of the best food experiences we have ever had!! We left one restaurant because they professed to be dog friendly and happen to get to the Rusty Moose. Chef Jay was not only awesome to our dog Clarky but also made our dinner which was for a big occasion a celebration we will remember forever!! Thank you Jay for making our day and making our family's day so much better with your amazing food and amazing attitude !!!

Saturday,June 7. Waited in line with 8-10 fellow diners from 4:40 until 5:30. No one ever showed up to open the restaurant. No sign on the door asking for our understanding. No answering phone or text messages. Nothing. No excuse.

We arrived right when they opened at 5:00 pm and were seated immediately. What followed was an hour-long wait for four cocktails—on my birthday, no less—with zero check-ins, zero communication, and only one clearly overwhelmed bartender. At one point, they even brought drinks to our table… and then took them away because they were for someone else.
I’ve seen their response to other poor reviews, and it seems they’d rather guilt-trip customers than take responsibility or improve service. If you can’t handle a full house, hire a second bartender or limit capacity. A good cocktail isn’t worth an hour wait in silence and confusion. You can call it “thoughtfully prepared,” but without basic hospitality, it just feels like a mess.
This place might be charming when it’s calm, but it was a train wreck when we visited.

Cozy, charming, and super dog-friendly — The Rusty Moose is a hidden gem on the Oregon coast. Incredible food and drinks (don’t miss the midnight martini or that waffle with Pinot compote). It’s a small, family-run spot, so service can be a little slow — but the warmth, flavor, and vibe more than make up for it.

We went to McGregor's a few years ago and loved it. Just happened to randomly stop by and saw that they had changed the name to The Rusty Moose. Great drinks, great food, atmosphere, service. These people know what they're doing, and really take care to make sure you enjoy your visit. Unfortunately, I rarely recommend a restaurant. But definitely recommend this place.
This is a MUST visit while in manzanita! LOVE the food…drinks…and the service is awesome! You won’t be disappointed. You really do get what you pay for here. They LOVE dogs and will even bring out a lil bed for your pup on the patio! ❤️❤️❤️

They were not open at posted time and seemed a little frazzled by this. No problem, it was nice out and we waited, looked over the menu. We ordered right away and it took 25 min for 2 cocktails. We did not order food, but the table next to us did (presentation looked wonderful and those ladies loved the flavors). We asked for the bill and the server did not return. One of us had to go in and pay. They seemed hurried and stressed. Maybe an off day?
