Flag & Wire Coffee

Shout out to flag and wire and one of their employees who was so kind to my husband and I today! We arrived after closing time but he still let us in and paused a project he was working on just to make us a coffee!! It made our day and now we love flag and wire even more. The breve he made was seriously the best too.

I just had a really unpleasant interaction with the fellow working here this morning. My husband and I walked up to the front counter to order, said hello, and the gentleman waled up to the cash register, glowered at us, didn’t say a word. He just waited at the cash register silently. He seemed so annoyed with us for no reason. No quick hello or thank you. I’ve been coming here for years and never been treated so poorly. Fellow had a beanie and curly dark hair. Very off putting.

Coffee was pretty good, and the space is great - a perfect spot to enjoy a slow morning or get some work done. Good enough to visit if it were convenient, but wouldn’t go out of the way to try it out.

We stayed overnight in McMinnville prior to a visit to the Evergreen Air and Space Museum. In need of coffee, we found Flag & Wire. I believe it was the best coffee I have ever tasted. Very smooth and delicious. My partner agreed that it was excellent coffee. We splurged and chose two pastries from their tiny pastry case - a marionberry danish and an apple-bourbon handpie. Both were excellent with delightful laminated pastry. We'll be back tomorrow morning!

The coffee and the pastries were delicious! The service was slow, because the barista had no sense of urgency, but it was worth the wait. At 10AM we were lucky to get some of the last pastries. They really need to order more from their supplier as they're open until 2PM. Else they're just disappointing customers and losing out on potential sales.

Flag and Wire is hands-down one of my favorite spots. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, the people working there are always kind and down-to-earth, and the location is just perfect. The coffee is consistently delicious, the pastries are fresh and so good every time, and even their merch is on point—super cute and really good quality. It’s the kind of place you just want to keep coming back to. Ten out of ten.
