Loved the atmosphere, small and laid back. Best chicken fried steak ever, huge also. Service with a smile. We would definitely return on our next visit to Mcminnville.

I was a good hole in the wall restaurant, but what I attempted to order I was told i needed to wait another ten minutes while they defrost the meat. What as I got for a substitute was good but not what I wanted to order. Next the waitress was very impatient when it came to the orders and actually listening to what the other members in my group wanted. But overall food was good customer service was lacking.

The food is worth the wait! Came in for brunch on a Sunday and it was crowded. We got seated promptly but had to wait a little bit for coffee but came out hot and fresh! Same goes for food- but some 45 minutes later, food came and it was worth it! Plus the servings were huge and have a meal for later! I'd really give this place 4 1/2 stars instead of 5 bc of wait! Cheers!

Hands down my favorite breakfast place in town. Excellent healthy food. When the owner passed away recently, it was so very sad. He was a great man from what I could see and the restaurant has continued to be faithful to what he had created. Still the same great food and atmosphere!

I cannot explain how great this gem is. Amazing food! Get the Chorizo breakfast burrito if the have it. They have the best mango salsa ever and I order it on every dish I order. The avocado toast is to die for. The portions are huge for a reasonable price. Everything tastes Organic and free range. Help save this place by eating at Morning Thunder. You won't be sorry.

My wife and I recently had breakfast here one Sunday morning. First time visit and we will be back. They had extra tables in the courtyard so we did not have to wait. They made me a pot of decaf which was great, not bitter at all. Food was terrific, my wife had the denver omlett and lets just say they are very generous with the ham here, not too many onions made it great. My Eggs Benedict was super, there was a very thick slice of ham on each muffin and the hollendaise sause was superb. I got a dirty plate and they put their sausage gravy on the potatoes and I am super happy to say the gravy was outstanding. They have the right spices, some sage (which I prefer) and for $1 extra, it was so worth it. Of course we were full all day until dinner. Walking around Downtown McMinville after words was a real treat, so many nice shops open and many restaurants we will be back to try another day.

I tried this cafe before Covid I n 2019 and the food was so fresh and made out of scratch that I loved it, but I went 3 weeks ago to try their amazing corn beef hash and was so disappointed. Either the chef has changed or they lowered the quality though increased prices. I took my son to show him what he is missing and was so embarrassed.

Servers were nice and clearly trying but the food just wasn't worth the wait. I ordered biscuits and gravy with 2 over medium eggs. Gravy had no flavor. Eggs were undercooked. Biscuits were so dry the gravy couldn't save them. My s/o had the croque madam. Everything was not well seasoned. Potatoes were oily and had no seasoning he had to add salt and pepper to the whole meal as did I. The ham had a strange taste like it wasn't stored right in the fridge. We also ordered the pancakes and they were very strange. They tasted almost doughy like baking powder and yeast. Didn't even look like any pancakes I've ever had, they were very dense and didn't taste good. We maybe had 2 bites. The most edible item was sourdough toast that I had to request more than once. Overall would hate for anyone else to wait 45 minutes for sub par food like I did. Very disappointed and unsatisfied. Only giving 2 stars for the sweet servers.

I've been to Morning Thunder many times ... It's always FANTASTIC. I loved everything about it, the food, the vibe AND the people. I just went to their website to "remember" the name of my favorite omelette for this review and discovered to my incredible dismay that the owner Ritchie recently [and suddenly] passed away. He was such an extraverted and popular guy, I strongly suspect that Covid took him. That said I hope it was a sudden event and hopefully "in his sleep" ... he deserved the most peacefully passing. What a wonderful place. I had planned to stop in this Thursday for some Bacon and Pancakes whilst visiting McMinnville for the Hotel Oregon's annual ... UFO Festival. As my main impetus was to see Ritchie again and engorge myself with his fantastic fare, I'm not sure I'll even drive the mere 45 miles for the UFO Fest. R.I.P. buddy

If I could give it negative stars I would. The food isn't bad but we waited an hour and a half for it and my plate didn't even come when everyone's else did and I got biscuits and gravy guess what she forgot it. After waiting that long I was super frustrated then when she apologized for not bringing my food and it's coming I waited 10 more minutes and then had to get up to ask them about it when 2 other tables were getting their food. I am pretty patient but this really made me mad! if u want food quick This isn't the place for you. Oh and 3 of 4 of our plates had the wrong food on them. I will not go back!

Excellent experience! Great vibe! Friendly staff and most of all scrumptious meals! Had the corned beef hash with the substitute side of the fruits assortment! Beautiful presentation!

I was really looking forward to eating here but the gravy just didn’t do it for us! Bland and just not that good. We had the biscuits and gravy, scramble with gravy and the chicken fried steak. We all agreed we have had better. The burger was great however. Overall an ok experience.

**Sadly the owner of the restaurant died unexpectedly and they have been temporarily closed. I will come back to show my support once they reopen. I’m so sorry for your loss, best wishes for your family during this difficult times**Was pretty excited to try a breakfast place in Mcminville on a Friday morning. I don’t know what was going on in this town but lots of the restaurants we tried to eat at were closed. This was our first choice as the reviews and pictures looked great. It was a little hidden and easy to miss as it’s with in the building. We were so disappointed to find the place closed. It looks like a nice place to eat so maybe we’ll give it a try another time.

LOVE this place!! Yes, it's loud in there but the atmosphere fits - Grateful Dead posters on the walls & GD music, their tables and chairs are eclectic, the food is delish, and enough on the plate to keep you full most of the day. We go here as often as we can. Definitely recommend.
