This place offered a wide selection of wines by the glass, which I really enjoyed. What impressed me the most was the local Sauvignon Blanc. I’ve tried Sauvignon Blanc from Washington and California, but in terms of acidity and aroma they all felt inferior to Dutch wines. However, the beautiful mineral character of the Sauvignon Blanc I had at this restaurant completely changed my negative impression of American Sauvignon Blanc.

As a fellow wedding and event coordinator, I have worked with Wooden Heart not only on a personal, but also a professional level. As a fan of their food, I hired them as our wedding caterer. I was so excited because their product is not only genuinely delicious, but I was thrilled to showcase a unique wedding meal with our family and friends. Not only was their service and products superior but I was so happy to know that they would be exceptional on site. I could not recommend them anymore and also know that they’re store front property is a fantastic space.

I can’t rate the brick and mortar restaurant but I can rate their food truck version. They were at an event at Durant Winery and offered a Caesar salad option. I was hesitant to order it because it was $16! But it was the only salad option available at the event so I ordered it with dressing on the side. When it was ready, it literally was a paper bowl, like the ones they serve a hot dog in, with some chopped romaine lettuce and a whisper of some crumbs that must have been the “croutons” and I think there was some cheese crumbs mixed in that. I kind of stood and gaped a moment as I saw my $16 floating away on… this????? I wanted to say something but when I thought about it I just didn’t know what I’d say but “what the hell is this?!” So I took it and found a lovely scenic area in which to crunch my leaves and ponder my decisions. On another note, my friends ordered a pizza from them and it looked and smelled pretty good! I can say I’d hesitate to visit their restaurant based on that “salad”. Remember - you’re still the Wooden Heart restaurant even if it’s on wheels for a day. Be sure you represent yourself the way you want to be seen and remembered.
Food NOT very good.
- I ordered “Linguini alle Vongole” because I specifically wanted linguini pasta. They served spaghetti (see photo), and when I asked about the mistake, they said that was their version of linguini.
- We also ordered a Prosciutto + Pear pizza, and it came extremely burnt (see photo).
- The kids’ menu is very limited, and they charge $10 for buttered spaghetti (basically just boiled in water).
- Ambience: excellent.

With the prices they charge you’d think the food and service would be exemplary. However, it was far from that. My husband ordered the burger which was nothing special. The French fries weren’t fresh am- hard and cold - probably fried earlier in the day. Service was dismal, the staff was heavily catering to every table but our table of two unfortunately. Would skip this place altogether.

The food was delicious. The pork-belly, plantain appetizer was excellent and not to miss. Melt in your mouth flavor explosion. I had a wood fired pizza with pear and gargonzola, and it was yummy. The crust was soft and flavorful. Everyone in our group loved the food. The prices were reasonable and they have a great selection of wines. Highly recommend.

Excellent all around. Lex, our server, was sweet, efficient, and attentive. The food was excellent--pizza, salad, ragu, crudites, etc. And the desserts were to die for! So glad we discovered this great little Italian bistro. Will definitely be back!

Absolutely wonderful little spot! It's nice having options in town that aren't fast food, but aren't as expensive as some of the other options.
The food was delicious, and the drinks very tasty. All of the staff we talked to were very friendly and helpful as well.
We had 3 people in our group, and everyone had a different dish; each was great. We had the pizza, the cheeseburger, and fish 'n chips. Of the 3 the fish 'n chips were a little on the heavy side, but still good.
Everyone also had a different desert, and everyone enjoyed theirs (I must say, I think the crème brûlée I had was the best one).
We will definitely be back.

We loved Taylor our server. She and the hostess appeared to be the only ones interested in serving anyone. I think they may have had less staff, but the manager barely spoke to anyone. Just acknowledge the customers and try to be friendly. The food was good, but they were out of several items.
