“Very rarely do I give a 5 star review. This restaurant earned it!
I stumbled upon this place on Google, searching for dinner last night. The reviews were good, so we decided to try it. It's hidden back off the road so it isn’t somewhere you’ll see driving, but it is a must-try! We weren’t getting our hopes up for the food (we have gone to highly rated restaurants in the past and sometimes found the food to be mediocre) but we were blown away! We ordered the chimichanga and enchilada combo, a carnitas quesadilla and the carne asada nachos with horchata. Let me start off with the fact that the portions are HUGE and the prices are low compared to pretty much everywhere. We paid $50 for 3 huge entrees and 2 drinks. The meats are SO flavorful, something I’ve found to be lacking in several Mexican restaurants in the area. The beef is slow cooked and tender. The meat is amazing by itself! But the chimichanga was crunchy, and gigantic! They even put rice in their chimichangas! Everything was incredibly flavorful with so many spices and aromatics. 10000/10!
I’m not normally a rice and beans kind of person, but theirs blew me away! They clearly make the refried beans from scratch, and they taste amazing! They taste like authentic homemade frijoles. The rice was flavorful and cooked perfectly. I don’t usually like rice from Mexican restaurants because it tastes like rice with a hint of tomato. But theirs? SO GOOD! I would order the rice and beans by ITSELF.
And the horchata deserves its own review, I swear. I’m tired of horchata being so sweet and syrupy. This restaurant makes it PERFECT! Lightly sweetened and not thick! It’s refreshing and delicious.
THIS is what I want when I want Mexican food. These wonderful owners have a fantastic restaurant with the best Mexican food I’ve had in the area in a long time. We will be back very soon!!!“
