The Roadhouse Medford was hands down the worst dining experience I’ve had in Southern Oregon. For a place charging over $30 per plate, the food quality, atmosphere, and service were all shockingly subpar.
The interior feels neglected—tables look worn and dirty, and the chairs are so uncomfortably hard it’s difficult to relax and enjoy your meal (not that there’s much to enjoy). The overall atmosphere is tired and uninviting.
I ordered the Mahi Mahi with garlic fries and a Caesar salad. The salad was passable—though oddly fishier than other Caesars I’ve had—but the rest of the meal was awful. The Mahi Mahi tasted old and freezer-burned, with a rubbery texture that made it nearly inedible. The garlic fries were no better: stale, chewy, and flavorless.
Between the disappointing meal and lackluster service, I left feeling completely let down. I expected far better at this price point. I won’t be returning—and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

***March 2025 Update - 6 years from Last Review which was 5 stars then*** Sadly this restaurant is nothing like it used to be. We had a party of 5 adults for a birthday dinner. We arrived around 6pm and it was like a ghost town inside. Thinking we’d get great service was the beginning of our disappointment. Our server never offered us bread rolls while taking our drink order, nor when he brought us our drinks. The brand new hostess was kind enough to bring us both peanuts and bread rolls, promptly after we asked her for them. Our salads arrived at the same time as our dinner. Our bread and salad plates sat on our table during and after we received our drink refills. A couple of us ordered our steaks ‘well done’ and they were overly well done, charred, tough and dry. We I handed my card to the hostess to pay our bill, I asked about a military discount and she assured me that would be applied. When our waiter brought the bill for me to sign, he did not apply the discount and had to void the charges and rerun my card for the corrected amount. Considering there were less than a handful of tables occupied in the entire place, there are zero excuses for both the service and food to be subpar. It’s really sad to see what used to be a highly desired restaurant that typically had a line out of the front doors, to deteriorate to this level.
**(2019 Review)** The Best steakhouse in the valley! 20 years we've been going & have never been disappointment. Great food, great service & great prices too!!!

HORRIBLE FOOD & OUTRAGEOUSLY PRICED! Caesar salad dressing tasted overwhelmingly fishy- I know fish is in the dressing but the taste of fish shouldn’t over power the salad. House salad looked/tasted old, bread was burnt. Garlic mashers was made with spoiled milk/sour cream, the potatoes were literally sour. Each plate was about $30s not worth the price for the quality of food at all. I reported the potatoes to the waitress which she handled well, she offered to replace the garlic mashers & I said broccoli would be fine when I seen the cook pouring the broccoli out of a plastic bag in to the serving bowl.. so I declined them….. … I very much regret going here today. Im not one to leave a bad review but I wouldn’t want anyone to get food poisoning or spend their hard earned money on this poor quality food…

Food was great and portions were huge. The waitress was phenomenal! We didn't have to ask for a single thing. Thanks for the great meal! Oh, and get the side of garlic fried green beans... Sooo good.
The food sucked. Raw chicken. Pulled pork was awful. Fries....dried out. Sausage was ok. My burger was ok. The best thing was the water with lemon 🍋

My husband and I went here last Friday night. We were seated right away, in the quiet corner we requested. Table was great, wasn’t too busy, and everyone was friendly. Our server’s name was Dominique (name on receipt) we think. I’m only doing this review to hype her up! She did everything right! Attentive, prompt, and kind. The food was not our favorite, but the service was a big ol 5 stars infinity ♥️

I knew that if I ordered the ribs that if I only ordered half, that I would get the small end. I ordered a full rack that had little meat on any of it and it was tough and not good. They list as fall off the bone good and should be for the price.

I used to go to that place years ago and it was fun. You can eat peanuts and everything. When we should have for lunch yesterday everybody seemed annoyed that we were there. My spare ribs were garbage, dried out with no flavor. My girlfriend's steak was a joke!!!! Don't spend your money at this place is a joke and a waste of money you still don't care about you!!!
