A bit pricey, but worth it. I love the yakisoba.
Prices have gone up....
We have had sushi in many places in the rogue valley and this place is by far our favorite! The sushi is fresh and consistently delicious! The staff and service is top notch! Always greeted with smiles and quick service! Highly recommend!
Great Ramen fresh ingredients and so super yummy. I totally recommend.
So good. Very fresh. Nice people. Will definitely be back.
Shinsei Sushi is one of my favorite Japanese restaurant. The wait is normally quick once you walk in, whether it be lunch or dinner time. They offer vegetarian options, which is perfect for me because I am a vegetarian. I adore their gyozas, crispy veggie rolls, and their noodle dishes. The staff are always friendly and inviting. If I lived in Medford, I would probably go every other day just to eat their gyoza and rolls. I always appreciate the plating, the chefs, and their staff. If you're looking for a new place for lunch or dinner, you need to check out Shinsei Sushi!
I was initially hesitant to try this spot, as ramen and sushi places in Southern Oregon can often be hit-or-miss. However, I decided to give it a shot, and I’m glad I did.
The wait staff were welcoming, attentive, and quick to take care of me. To start, I ordered the sake sampler, which offered a nice variety and good quality for the price. It was a great way to explore different flavors.
For my meal, I chose the tonkotsu ramen. The broth was flavorful and well-balanced, with just the right depth to keep it satisfying. The noodles were cooked perfectly, with a pleasant bite that complemented the broth. I also tried the spicy tuna roll, which was fresh and had a nice kick without being overwhelming.
Overall, I was impressed with the quality of the food, especially for the area, and the prices were reasonable. While it may not blow you away, it’s definitely worth trying if you’re in the mood for good ramen or sushi in Southern Oregon. I’ll certainly be back.
This has been our go-to sushi restaurant since they opened But we just had a bad experience that surprised us. We normally have sushi but I talked my wife into Yakisoba which she had never tried but I had eaten for years throughout the western US including at Shinsei. I ordered chicken and she vegetable. They brought us both chicken, apologized but we kept it. Our main complaint was that it was swimming in oil. We had never experienced this before with this dish and concluded they had a new, fill in cook. This was for lunch on a week day. We plan to return as they have always been friendly and competent. We are seniors and never complained like this before.
I forgot to take a pic! It was so good! I will definitely go back and take pics.
Great sushi!

I can’t help but keep returning to this spot. The reviews about their ramen truly reflect reality! They’re playing in a whole different league with their ramen, particularly the broth and I caution you, it's wildly addictive.
I was also quite impressed with their sushi! We ordered four rolls, which were more than sufficient. The fish is fresh and flavorful, and the rice portion, which many places tend to oversaturate, is perfectly balanced at Sensei Sushi.
What impresses me the most is the dedication the chef shows to his restaurant. You can truly taste the love and attention in each dish. I've had the pleasure of chatting with him a few times, and his passion radiates!
If you are searching for a compelling appetizer, try the Ahi Tower. Stunning presentation and the myriad of flavors dances across your palet.
The pricing is very reasonable given the quality and consistency they offer. I’ve visited this place eight times in the last two months, and I can confidently certify their reliability.
