SO GOOD. I didn't take any photos, sadly. Highly recommended. I tried Polenta and biscuits!

10/10, honestly best breakfast I’ve had in Portland so far! Perfect brisket hash with peppers, amazing biscuit with jam (better than the big bfast places here) and to top it all off this place is cheap! Amazing work folks, you’re killing it. I’ll definitely be back!

5 stars. Up from 4. Lived in neighborhood from 1998 - 2022 and we still make this cafe a regular stop even now that we live in Oregon City and travel. This is a must stop. Picture added is a Biscuit with bacon & egg, and side of veggies and pesto = $15.5 = Delicious!4 meals ordered & all fantastic! Had veggie sandwich=delicious & sausage, egg, cheese biscuit & also very good. Coffee great. I've lived near here and this my first time ordering food. We'll be back!I dropped my 5 star to 4 due to uncontrollable kids being loud, spilling & noisy. But this is a family neighborhood Cafe. So depending on what you want, this place could go either way with you. I will still go back, I might do take out, if kids are present.Added: The meat (sandwiches) comes pretty rare. They won't ask you for the doneness, so ask before hand. And with that, their poached eggs are very runny (but you might like them that way) . So again, order appropriately. We've ordered both and it's for this reason I've added this comment to my review. I'm not a fan of very red meat & absolutely hate runny egg whites. Which is why I like and order scrambled.Added 7/2018 : They seemed have gotten rid of the couch & children's play area. IMO, better for business. Kids can play home. For the owners, collect up your dirty dishes more often as Flys like dirty dishes. ;)

We absolutely love this spot. The food is excellent, the prices are INCREDIBLE for the amount of food you get (we often split one dish and get a pastry on the side), and the people here are the absolute best. Pictured are the last vestiges of our “Smash Hash” special— beautiful brisket with smashed potatoes, excellent sauce, and veggies.

The coffee was very good and the food was good. The staff was very friendly. It was an inviting and open space. The prices however are obscenely high. I work at the hospital and I will often consider going but then I remember the cost and go elsewhere. It is very unfortunate. If cost isn't an issue then I recommend but beware it's mid level brunch restaurant prices for cafe food. I'm not putting the place down it's just a drawback for me personally.Vegetarian options: YesDietary restrictions: YesParking: Not badKid-friendliness: Eh sort ofWheelchair accessibility: Yes

Cozy, relaxed atmosphere. Great community vibe with friendly service. Hot delicious coffee and my breakfast sandwich was amazing! Nice thick bacon. Yum. Will definitely be coming here next time I’m remotely in the area.

It was cold in the restaurant which made it uncomfortable. It was order at counter yet they ask for a minimum 15% tip. I didn’t realize it was bus and clean your own table so I left a tip. The brisket was dry.

Definitely a must stop in Milwaukie!! I was craving a new breakfast spot and Milwaukie cafe and bottle shop came up on my search. Parking is available in a small parking lot or street parking. We came on a Sunday afternoon and had to park on the street a couple of blocks down due to how busy they were. You order at the front, grab a number and self seat. We waited about 45 mins for food which was expected as they warned us when we ordered that they were slammed - good for them! The two sandwiches we got were 5/5 sooo good and flavorful. The chicken jam biscuit is a must and the traditional bacon egg cheese will never let you down. They must smoke their own meats as I saw a smoker out back! The biscuit with butter and jam wasn't my fav. I would get the "jam" on the side as well as the butter as it immediately was mushy. This particular biscuit was overdone, which I know is just a variation as our other biscuits were perfectly cooked. The "jam" is also more on a compote, not a traditional jam which probably played into making the biscuit mushy. I would also pass on the "orange" soda - I think they could have given us the wrong flavoring because it tasted very floral - maybe orange blossom? Not sure. Definitely good for smaller groups, but with some finagling you could make a larger group work here. My husband and I are already talking about going back soon! Apparently they have amazing monkey bread, it was sold out when we arrived but I overheard two parties talking about it!

I don't go often or I get it to go, because I am immune compromised now, but I love this place. So glad that something finely stuck here after several others tried and didn't last. It's nice to have a neighborhood café. Even better to have one so good! The food is excellent. These guys have experience in the restaurant industry and it shows. Also love that they support local artists and the neighborhood association.Dietary restrictions: GF
