We stopped by on Saturday night at 4:30 P.M. A little social media birdie had told me that they were open for dinner from 4:30PM to 9 PM on Friday and Saturdays (make sure to check their website for earlier hours). It’s a cute little spot. Lots of local art on the walls for sale and lots of seating. You can tell they make everything from scratch and you can follow the smoky and tantalizing smells of barbecue right to the door. There are a million better "cafe's" than this one. You'll be happier going elsewhere.

Milwaukie Cafe and Bottle Shop is a popular local spot known for its delicious sandwiches, including the Milwaukie Christo and Chicken Jam. Their brisket is highly praised, and the cafe breakfast items, like the biscuit with butter and jam and brisket hash, are also very good. The menu features unique options such as polenta bowls, with toppings like pimento cheese, bacon, and an egg, although availability may vary. Prices are fair for the quality of food, which is comparable to decent diners in Portland. The atmosphere is casual, spacious, and well-decorated with local stained glass art for sale, making it a comfortable place to relax. The staff is very friendly and enthusiastic, and the coffee is flavorful without being too sweet. Customers appreciate the fast service and the clear signs for where to put dirty dishes. The cafe can be a family-friendly spot, but some may prefer take-out when children are loud. Some visitors have noted that the cafe can be cold inside, and there is no wifi, possibly because it functions more as a restaurant than a coffee shop. Overall, Milwaukie Cafe and Bottle Shop is a top breakfast destination that offers excellent food and friendly service in a charming neighborhood setting.
