The only reason I give it 4 stars is because I am Armenian and I've grown up with a lot of homemade Mediterranean food so that's the only thing I have to compare it to. The owner was really nice to me when I was getting food and what I had was pretty good and all reasonably priced.

I found the best hidden gem in monmouth! Right off the main road in town- easy parking too. I got a gyro and fries and was totally blown away how good it was. Definitely going back there soon to try the pita fries! . Also, service was the best I've had at a food cart with no wait and friendly staff. (Also 2 pretty girls running it) ;)

Pete and Cindy ate the absolute best! Their food is 111% and I promise you, that tzatziki sauce is MAGIC! The serving sizes always leave me with leftovers! They are always so kind and get to know you. My go-to spot when I'm off work!
If you like Gyros, you will never want to get them anywhere else. The food is absolutely worth every penny, the portions are generous, and the proprietor is fantastic. He's kind, polite, and makes it a point to remember things about his customers.Kid-friendliness: Super friendly to kids. Engages them in a manner that doesn't make them feel shy.Wheelchair accessibility: Located at sidewalk level, so no stairs to nacigate.Dietary restrictions: Precautions are always taken if you have a good allergy or intolerance.
Great price, great portions, and the friendliest owner! I came here with my friends last spring for the first time and fell in love immediately. This place has the best tzatziki I've EVER had! I wouldn't say there are a whole lot of places to eat in this town, but Greece Lightning does not fit that description in the slightest.

I just enjoyed a falafel sandwich from Greece Lightning . The falafel balls were good/ they had a bit of a spicy kick , the pita bread was fresh and soft . The other ingredients were Greek style so there was feta cheese and olives included , as well as I think tziki sauce . It was a very generously large portion , definitely cannot be consumed while driving ! I would recommend if you want a plant based option instead of beef or chicken . Also for a comparison this falafel is different than style from other Middle Eastern areas where there may be heavier parsley and lemon , different spices and tahini used . This filled me up without feeling overstuffed, and if you have room eat a piece of baklava for a sweet treat!

The biggest shout out to the owner, meeting you was the highlight of my day! Your food was super delicious and I would have never ordered the beef/lamb , i’m so glad you convinced me to try it it’s my new favorite. Full of flavor and surprisingly not gamey. We loved these seasoned/feta fries! I can’t wait to come back and see you. Thanks for a delightful dinner.
