I never had such a bad food in a restaurant before.. the herbed potatoes wasn’t ready.. the miso soup was spoiled.. the noodles salad was tasteless.. the waitress was really nice though!! I think the name is Kaiana .

Great nachos!! We added extra pinto beans - a must. Food came before our beers which was disappointing.

The food was hearty and not bad for bar food. The servings are huge so the place over indexes on quantity versus quality. I would keep expectations low regarding it being any sort of fine dining spot. The servers were really nice both times we stopped in over the three days we were there.

Note: We were the only full table of brown people in the restaurant at the time of this event. My family is Asian American, my boyfriend is African and my baby is mixed. Part of my family was here to snowboard, so we drove up to meet them for a nice lunch at this restaurant. It was definitely a busy time at the lodge. I am grateful to the employees for working and making it a fun and exciting place to be.When we got to the grill, The host was very nice, she sat us down at a table very quickly. Our waitress came in to take our drink orders, 4 alcoholic drinks were ordered (3 of them the same drink), two were brought out in a timely manner, the other two were completely forgotten about. We waited patiently before finally reminding our server, a woman named Paige, then she went to go get those for us. She took our food orders and everything went smoothly until the food arrived. We ordered several dishes including two plates of chicken breast with mashed potatoes and chili corn ($21/each) Both brought to our table at the same time, One plate was perfect, the other was very lacking. Missing a lot of corn and gravy. (Photo included)When I brought up to the server that there wasn’t any corn on the plate, she pointed at the small amount of corn and said “there’s plenty of corn”. I told her to look at both plates and tell me again how there’s plenty of corn and to tell me how the plates looked the same, her response was “can I get you more corn” in a very condescending tone.I told her yes please. She brought out a small cup of corn to rectify the situation but at that point the damage was done.As a former server, it is my understanding that the kitchen staff shouldn’t have let the plate leave the kitchen looking unfinished and the server should not have brought the plate to the customer looking unfinished. I don’t know whether this plating issue is due to the negligence of the kitchen staff or if it was just the waitress taking advantage of a situation to be racially biased. She should have taken accountability for the mistake, said sorry and taken the plate back to be re-plated rather than give some attitude and make the customer feel as though their needs were over the top. Seeing as we were the only table of brown people, with the exception of one or two other minorities seated throughout the restaurant at the time, this situation, whether intended or not, was definitely taken personally and as racism. We will not be dining there again. My sister has a season pass for the Meadows and now regrets having gotten it, she is going to make sure to go with Timberline next year and so is the rest of our family. We are completely turned off by the Mt.Hood Meadows based off of this situation that was totally avoidable, all due to the negligence and attitude of our server. Thanks a lot Paige.

“Aromatic white bean chili” was $14 it was a tiny portion of pinto beans and no meat and it was cold by the time it got to us. Very underwhelming. Had to resort to getting food downstairs and the waitress informed us no outside food was allowed so we packed it up right away. Then she came by and said “do you mind if I get rid of these for you” after we had taken one bite and put the lids on to leave. Super rude about it. Don’t waste your time and get the chili dog downstairs for $8 it was phenomenal

I've been skiing at Mt Hood Meadows since 2007. Alpenstube used to be a "high end" (whatever high end can mean on the scale of an average grade ski resort) - at the very least, it served decent food, significantly better than total junk next to it in the lodge. This year, first ski weekend of the season, Alpenstube turned out to be a total disappointment. Chicken which sounded yammi in the description turned out to be a fast food type fare at ridiculous (for what you get) price. Think "Kentucky fried chicken" at, like, 5x the price with a label of full service restaurant. Fish and chips entrée is gone. Menu got two times shorter than it used to be. $50 for two for junk food? Give me a break! Another step of travel of Mt Hood Meadows ski resort down the drain...

Their nachos are great. The Bloody Mary on the other hand is way overpriced and not good. $15 for a single was fair, but the waitress up sold me to a double. $28 bucks! What a scam, they should inform you with that kind of up charge on a double.

Not the worst for lodge food but it would be cool if it was just good food in general. Weird menu and ok food - great service. Ditch the 'cheese sauce' nachos and just put cheese on the chips and slide it in the oven please.

Food used to be really good but it's been cheapened while giving it fancier names. The nacho mountain was amazing up until this year... Now it's the Alprenstube nachos or whatever now. And it's gross. There's no cheese, there's... Sauce? Gravy? Liquid something that has almost no flavor and the chips are absolutely DROWNING im it. At least half of they tray is inedible and it's $19 or $24 with meat. Incredibly disappointed. Literally don't want to eat it.

Completely full today, it's the only restaurant open at meadows at 4:45 pm. Vertical is closed and so is the upstairs of alpenstube. Get a clue meadows. I have so had it with skiing at meadows that I am moving so where else.

The reserving tables system is the worst I have ever seen. There were at least 6 tables that were empty but it took them 2 attempts to seat us. I really believe it was because of who was operating the system. Definitely don’t have the tables under control. They even take your phone number to take your reservation. When people come in from the cold, let them sit down in an empty chair and eat. Once seated, not all tables remained full and food from the kitchen was super slow. Wait staff was awesome and comped my beer.

Last time I was here the food was good but that was after they dropped my Fry's on the floor. Halfway through eating the burger I found a bread clip in my mouth! This time the service is non existent I had to ask 3 people to get my order. When I was checked in on once by server. I had to ask another server to get the manager just to get my check. She said she would talk to my server. I am a season pass holder and expect more from this place.

This one is for Dana and whichever kind-hearted chef helped her work some magic on Feb 2nd, 2019. I came in with a very strange request to buy a cup of vegetable oil so I could go back to the camper and cook dinner for my kid. Dana got it. She made it happen. Dinner was awesome. I make it a point to never eat in the lodge at a ski resort, but because of this customer service, I'll be making an exception for the 'Stube next weekend.
