Our server was frequent and friendly and took good care of us. We've unfortunately become used to hands-off service from the city where we grab our own food and clean our own table and pour our own drinks, so having the help was nostalgic and she certainly earned her tip. Food was great and my boyfriend really enjoyed the rustic vibe, he'd never been to a Black bear before. Next stop is taking him to Mt. Shasta~~

Nice family restaurant, part of a chain but they make most of the food on site. Huge menu with many choices. Food was very good. Service exceptional. Clean bathrooms, always a plus. Stop by today, you won't be disappointed.

They are ALWAYS short staffed. I have two blackbear locations equally distant from my house, this one and the on in Wilsonville. This branch is short staffed, you always have to wait to get a table, waitress takes forever to t ake your order and you have to wait for the food even longer.
It's the Wilsonville branch for me from now on

There for a book club, (I know, weird spot for it, but here we are, and it totally worked out) There were about eight of us and we didn't have to wait for a table because we got a reservation in advance (recommended if you have a big party). Speaking of recommendations, highly recommend the biscuit (seriously, get it, you'll love it. And if you don't, come at me, I'll defend this) Warning it's gigantic and it will be all the calories you'll need for the day. As are all their portions actually, you could probably get a meal or two out of them. (and that's a lot in this economy, but the dow is at 50,000 sooooo) The server was on top of it the whole time, we didn't wait for anything even though she had other tables. We were all on separate checks which is frigging annoying but she handled it all without a sigh of contempt. Even though the place was packed we were able to have a conversation and hear one another at the large table. I highly recommend this location. We got the best treatment.

Wow! Black Bear Diner in Newberg is always so amazing and hits the spot. They have a wide variety of food and daily specials. We had prime rib and a southern scramble. The person who sat us (I believe her name was Alma) was so nice and fast and courteous. Our servers name was Kennedy and she was so amazing and made us feel so welcome. We have had Kennedy in the past as well and she is so wonderful. Kennedy definitely deserves a raise. The food was hot and came out very fast. The server came by several times to make sure we had everything we needed. She even stayed and chatted with us for a minute or so. Very family friendly place. I would recommend it to anyone in town.

This was our first dinner at the bear and it was great. I loved the pot pie. I have to give a special shout-out to the server with the stache. After our meal, we asked if he could make a banana split. He did not disappoint! I suspect this gentleman will be moving up in the world at a rapid pace because of his ability to think out side of the box and produce in such short notice. Also, this should be on the menu.
