We were looking for fresh seafood to take back home to share with family. Super happy to have come across the Chelsea Rose and highly recommend them! We also wanted to see fresh Dungeness crabs. The fisherman went above and beyond by asking our little human to touch the crab and even gave it to him to hold. This was the highlight of our time in Newport. Thanks so much! Oh, the crabs were delicious!!

Chelsea rose is our go to fresh seafood spot. Although we drive just under an hour, the fish is always of utmost quality and the live crabs are always large and meaty. The staff is always so helpful and nice, especially if you are unsure of what to buy.

I love leaving 5 star reviews but in this case I cannot. We drove from Florence, OR to Newport, OR to buy fresh fish from Chelsea Rose Seafood at the dock. We spent over $200 on one whole Salmon and a couple small Cod fillets. I don't mind spending $200 on fish but my expectation is that this fish would taste incredibly fresh. We cooked one Salmon fillet and the others went in the freezer immediately. We cooked it like we have all other fresh salmon and were astounded that this one tasted so fishy we ended up throwing it out. My husband and I are not ones to like seafood that tastes fishy. We figured maybe that salmon was not caught that day, and we decided to give the cod a try. We did a parmeson encrusted fish recipe and once again, the cod was so fishy tasting that we threw that out. That was the biggest waste of $211 plus 100 miles we have ever had. Very disappointed.

Just a few hours after purchase of a live crab I discovered that some of the crab legs were damaged and the meat was rotten. I cooked it and ate what was good. It was fresh but had little to no flavor. I should have inspected it more closely before purchase

Dungeness crab very good, yet wish it was a little more affordable

Always fresh, good service wonderfully prices. Don't pay for the middle man to upcharge you go directly to the docks. All year long different fish at best prices.

This is the place to go for fresh seafood. It's crab season, and we prefer to start with live crab. Chelsea Rose has them, and their price is very competitive. Of course, they'll "back" and clean them for you for a dollar a crab. Well worth it if your garbage pick up is still a few days away.

I saw your post on Facebook about fresh crab at $6 a pound and went down to the docks to buy some crab. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware that it was live crab and didn't have a container with me to bring them home, so I purchased the cooked crabs at $10.99 a pound, assuming they were fresh as it was the day after the crab season opened. Imagine my surprise when I opened the sack and found the crabs were frozen! They were stringy and hard to crack and pick. Not a happy customer!

EXCELLENT, FRESH SEAFOOD!!The Dungeness Crab was probably the best I have ever had. The Black Cod was delicate and flavourful. We felt the prices were reasonable, too.

For sure the crabs are fresh here, because they'll select the size you want from a tub of live crabs. $8 a pound fresh and they'll clean it for free right on the spot! Better than buying the steamed crab for sure. Good service by the gentleman, the second time the lady was squeamish about the crab and how to get it ready for cleaning. Highly Recommend!Take pier right in front of Ripley's to the boat you can easily see from the street.

If you're looking for fresh fish definitely give these guys a chance. You can't really get more authentic and fresh than right off a boat in the harbor, the fish here was gorgeous and really reasonably priced. What's more, the staff, Kat and Tony, were delightful and helped guide us to where we could find dry ice. Tony sliced up the halibut right there with the speed and precision of a master, I would probably be lucky to not gut myself working a knife like that.I would come here every month if I lived closer.

Very friendly, customers oriented group. They go out of their way to make sure you're satisfied with your purchase and also get it in your car
