We just happened on this great little place on a weekend trip to the coast. The staff greeted us and got us taken care of right away. The food was flavorful and we were very happy with our meals! We'll definitely be making Chowder Bowl a regular stop when we visit the coast! Next time we'll post pictures. Check em out.

The food was decent up until I got to the bottom of my bread bowl and started to dig out bread and there was a pink spot. It was brought to the attention of our waitress who refunded us. She took it back to the kitchen and came out and informed us they thought it was red dye. It wasn’t. It was an obvious spot of mold. They continued to bring out bread bowls to other customers. I would be worried about eating here again unfortunately when they didn’t take this seriously. Pink mold isn’t harmless. It is toxic. My entire family ate off my bread bowl wanting to try the sourdough. Discouraging that it wasn’t taken seriously and gave an excuse that doesn’t line up. There is no red dye in sourdough bread bowls and if somehow it was contamination it would’ve been mixed into the dough.

My husband and I have been coming here for literal years now. It's unpretentious, delicious food in an environment that is comfortable and welcoming. We've never had a bad meal or bad service here. The chowder is delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. The location is steps away from having your feet in the sand. As long as the Chowder Bowl is open, we will be loyal customers.
