The clam chowder was amazing. This was the best one of the four different clam chowders I tried while visiting the area for a week.
This place is a little bit of a hole in the wall, but their seafood is on point! I would definitely come back here for the clam chowder alone. It knocked my socks off!
The fries were great as was the burger and fried chicken sandwiches my kids had. The grilled fish sandwich was a bit spicy for those who don’t like spice, but the flavor was great!
Service is about what you would expect from a fish counter that sells fresh fish by the pound. If you go into it with that expectation, you won’t be let down.

waited in line for 10 minutes just to be told if the store closes at four right when I got to the front of the line wouldn’t serve us wouldn’t give us food. What kind of restaurant closes at 4 o’clock.

Hands down, the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. Positioned right on the bay by the Pacific seafood factory. This unassuming eatery is a gem. You’d think the seafood volunteered to be cooked, seafood here is unbelievably fresh and tastes like they leaped from the sea right into your plate! I mean there’s a section where you can see part of the factory where shrimp are being sorted and prepared…..
The breading, the cook and the seasoning were on point.
The fries here are the perfect crunch and comfort ❤️I asked them for its recipe, assuming they’d confirm my suspicion of them being just generic frozen ones. Their answer won me over. (You’re going to want to ask).
Often times you find really good fish and chips but are let down by the accompaniments. At the Fish Peddler’s Market, the tartar sauce is a winner in its own right. You’ll end up wanting to eat more fish right after.

Went here specifically for fresh halibut and chips. It was the worst halibut I have ever had it was like they minced up the halibut it and made patties out of them it wasn’t fresh and flaky and tasted like rotting fish. On another note everything else we got was great the calamari, chowder, hamburgers, and chicken strips were great.

Not as fresh as we’d hoped - the person who rang us up told us that they aren’t using the halibut they have behind the counter, rather getting it elsewhere, breaded by a different company. The halibut fish and chips were tiny (like, 2 small cuts), way overly-breaded and surrounded by a mountain of fries. My grilled rockfish sandwich was tasty and seemed fresher and a better deal for the price, I would recommend that instead.

The family and I were looking for a quick cheaper place to grab a bite. Saw their prices and looked reasonable so ordered some Cioppino and Clam Chowder Bread bowl.
The Chowder Bowl was really good and tasty. Good creamy consistency and they do not skip on and ingredients clams, potatoes etc. It was so good we bought some Chowder to go to eat back out our room. If you do get it to go make sure you follow the instructions when heating. Don't just bring it to a boil and call it good it needs to cook a little for the Veggies inside to soften up a little.
The Cioppino was amazing not sure how they don't charge more for it. I got a whole crab leg and a good portion of all the other seafoods in it and was really flavorful and it came with a side of Texas toast.

Excellent quality product at a reasonable price. Newport location does not have fried oysters. Chowder is as good or better as more famous brands with long lines. Not a restaurant per se but a great place to get some excellent food. Some tables and a bar where you can watch people preparing seafood for processing.
