The wait for food and drinks is a little long, BUT this seeming like a mom and pop restaurant it was amazing. The vibe of it feeling like youre right at home with amazingly good food. I had the brisket sandwhich was amazing and tender and juicy. I truly will come back next time in in town

Not worth it
I feel bad posting this review, because everyone seems to enjoy it! I was a bit disappointed in the food. I ordered the pastrami sandwich, was a bit dry, and didn't taste too terribly good. My mom ordered the eggs and hash, but only got one slice of toast. The staff didn't seem like they enjoyed being there, so the atmosphere didn't have a great energy to it. I don't think we will be stopping here again in the future. But they do allow dogs inside which was amazing!! Also, a nice size bathroom for customers who sit in a wheelchair!

We ate breakfast 3 times and lunch once there in our 4 day stay in Newport. Service and food outstanding. My husband said it was the best tuna melt he has ever had. The Slumgullion unbelievably good. Best food In Newport.

Don't waste your time unless you enjoy trash service and terrible food. The waitress spilled water on my leg and said nothing... I had to ask for my drink twice before getting a refill. Awful food. The gravy was burned and I now have to throw up. Thanks Fishtails!

I got chicken fried steak and it was the worst gravy I’ve ever had. The best thing on my plate was the eggs that needed salt and pepper to have any flavor. If I hadn’t have asked for water when we sat down I don’t think we would have gotten a drink I at all.

Dropped in for a late lunch. What a pleasant surprise! Got there right before closing at 3. We had the brisket sandwich - amazing!!! Very flavorful and juicy. The homemade bun added just the right touch. Great find. Thanks.

Always have the Marrionberry French Toast in the back of my mind. Still as good as 9 years ago.

Great place to grab a meal! A true family restaurant with great food. We ate Marionberry French Toast, Biscuits and Gravy, and Fish and Chips. With seating outside we were able to bring our dog with us. We will definitely come back when we visit Newport again.

What a great hidden gem tucked away on the south end of Newport. I ordered an omelette and was blown away by the exceptional quality of fresh ingredients, large portion size and just how perfectly prepared the food was! Even though they were in the middle of a rush our server Jazzilynn was phenomenal. She was knowledgeable and never kept us waiting. My wife and I will definitely return again soon to try more of the very unique and tasty offerings. Thanks to all of their hard working staff!

We stopped in here for lunch on a busy Saturday about 1:30. The wait was minimal and the service awesome. Everyone in the party reported their food was great. I had the pastrami on sourdough. The bread is made in-house and you can tell. Soup was chicken and dumpling and also great. We'll definitely be back.
