Newport Brewing Company offers a variety of food and drink options, a lively atmosphere, and a friendly wait staff.

I am no stranger to craft breweries having visited so many, but also having brewed many myself. This brew pub has a variety of beers to choose from, but I was disappointed to hear that over a third of their menu was unavailable. Their cocktail menu is also nothing short of intriguing.

I was pleasantly surprised by the food options. Newport is a seafood town, and you really should try some local fresh catches, but in addition to seafood Anchor offers all sorts of other cuisines for both starters and entrees.

The ambiance is almost that of a brewery mixed with a sports bar. They do close relatively early, but it was still a great experience, and the server was incredibly hospitable and helpful.

My 4 year old loves the burger!

Newport Brewing opened AUG 2019. Brewing Industry analysists raised concern about Oregon's brew pub closures during 2010s warning the craft brewing scene is saturated. Between 2015-2018 over 36 craft brew pubs went out of business, including PDX downtown Rogue. But... That sounded like an opportunity for BB! Taphouse closed, Wilder sold, and ONP Brewing closed. Yet other restaurants flourished. When it comes to Taco Trucks it's about LOCATION and Canyon Way is not a good location. If I owned a T Truck no way would I give up a hard fought for location to go to a dead zone. One bad business decision after another. Any bets on how long this opening will limp along. For Sale for only $1.8 million !

UPDATE:
After four years I thought I'd give this another try NOV 2024.
I order the same burger as before but now priced at $18. That's a 2 dollar increase for the same burger. Compared to my last burger here the meat patty was half the size and definitely not grilled. Just a poor little soggy patty. Honestly, the Burger King Whopper is better.... and priced a lot less than $18 bucks. My service was good.

OLD POST 2021:
I ordered a $16 burger. I asked for well done no bacon no cheese. I also ordered a flight of NBC beers. The waitress confirmed my order. I got my beers, typical brew pub IPAs Meh. My burger was gross. It had bacon and a pile of caramelized onions = (greasy) plus cheese. Not what I ordered. It was burnt (100% black) on the outside and raw inside... as in red and white. Yes, white. Id estimate the fat content of the meat in the 30%-40% range. Cold raw fat is not my idea of good.
The inside of the bar was cold, sterile, and echoed. Lots of concrete, stainless steel, and corrugated steel. If you enjoy eating in a laboratory or industrial chemical plant the Anchor is great. In all, over priced.. cold atmosphere, just another hopeful brew pub. I wont return nor recommend this place when there are better options for visitors.

1 beer stop right before close, so, while rushed, I really enjoyed the spot. Great layout and amazing artwork. The beer selection was plentiful, and the IPA I had was actually really good.

Wow! Great beer and food and outstanding service. Big beer selection and a menu to boast. Seems like a big Oregon State bar but beyond friendly locals.

Had a great time. Whitney was a sweetheart. Loved the beer flights, environment and service.

We ordered "to go" fish tacos, chicken wings and house salad. The halibut in the tacos was tough. The chicken wings weren't tasty and the salad wasn't even good. Plus, it was pretty expensive.

Nice brewery. Love sitting at the picnic tables in the parking lot and seeing the bay views. Good food and good beers. Cute place! Outdoor seating is dog friendly!

Beer is good, but they only filled my growler half way. When i told them it’s not full they just gave me a refund of half. I’m so confused.

They responded and said they would fix it. If we ever are back in the area we will stop by to see. Thanks.

I call this The Battle of the Bay! It is Newport Brewing Company vs. Rogue Brewery!

Newport Brewing Company wins!

They just released their Tropic Thunder Double Hazy IPA on draft! It is the best beer I have ever had! It is perfect partner to the Carne Asada Tater Tots! It has a light hearted, coastal mural vibe going! I love the outdoor seating area too! Congratulations!

Be patient with the staff - they’re doing their best! Service was a little slow due to low staffing but once we were served, it was great. Special Poke tuna bowl - delicious and well priced at $16. Kids meals were good. Nachos good. For a family of four to eat for a $100 (with drinks) is pretty good these days. Always have loved the art and decor here. Well done!

Really good & fresh fish. Unfortunately, the Menu doesn't always match what is available. This is just a testament to how fresh the fish is.

As much as I hate to say it, this place used to be so much better. I would always get the kick'n PB&J burger because it was to die for!! Unfortunately last few times we've gone staff is super slow even if they are not busy at all, and the food has gone way down hill. The burger had a small soggy patty with very little apricot jam, no fried jalapenos, no lettuce and almost no peanut butter. I was sorely disappointed and gave them a few chances all with steady decline. I would not recommend this place for the price it's not worth it
