The worst customer service ever! The place was empty, two servers and bartender. After several passes with “we will right with you”. Jesus grabs a notepad and states “want to be added to 20 minute wait list”? We ask why we had to be on a waitlist when the entire place was empty and there was nobody sitting at the bar. We also ask Jesus can we just sit at the bar and have a drink. He got this rude grin and sarcastically said “no”. Not, sorry we are understaffed, some sort of explanation. We were shocked. His behavior was less than professional rude, and we will never be back to this establishment again. Fully recommend the Newport brewery just up the street.

The atmosphere is classic, rugged in a playful way and chill like mom's molasses. The drinks are gourmet across the board, but the clam chowder is the best I've ever had. The crew is kind, their service is sweet, and the space itself is hard to beat.

Nearby activities: The sea lions nearby bark Rogue! Ripley's Believe It Or Not is nextdoor.

Walkability: Along the river ocean bay front!

Food and drinks: Delicious gourmet craft beers and magnificent food.

Noteworthy details: Historical place worth visiting if you come to Newport and like good beer and food.

Awesome fish and chips halibut was on point wife and I shared a basket and a bowl of clam chowder it was plenty. Blackberry beer they have on tap is delicious.

Fun to order a flight of four Rogue beers before choosing your favorite for a pint. My favorite is the Hazelnut brown nectar. The halibut fish and chips is crispy and tender. Fried cheese curds and pickle fries are tasty, too!

Good bee, but don't get the cheese curds. No cheese in them. Seems like it all melted in the fryer and then oozed out of the batter.

Second time here. Last time was about 10 years ago. A lot changed (for the good)! Much larger now. Fish and chips was ok. Not as crispy as I would have liked. My wife got the salmon sandwich and said it was really good. Wished I had got that too. Maybe next time. Staff was friendly and attentive.
