We were unvited to join our friend (a local) to experience this restaurant. For sure a different affair. It serves a revolving (set) menu with a starter, choice out of 3 main dishes and a desert.Thw table is shared with other guests but not in a too greater group. We were at a table of eight and had the pleasure of meeting some lovely people. All up there were 2 tables of eight guests. The food was quite lovely and there was a nice selection of beverages.Furthermore there is a little gift shop.

I recommend you stick to the small plates. They were wonderful. The entree disappointed. Same veggies on it as small plates - very fresh - just with a piece of over sauced fish plunked on top. Repetitive and boring. Try to get a table upstairs overlooking the marina. Staff was professional and friendly.

The food was excellent. but 3-hours for a 4-course meal was really long. Only one server for so many people was not manageable. We were all seated at 6pm and didn't have our entrée until 8pm. I enjoyed our social time but by 8pm I was ready to go home. Dinner clean up. Dessert and paying the b8ll we didn't leave until 855pm. The corn chowder, salad and lamb were all amazing. Just held hostage too long. If you could do dinner service start to finish in two hours it would be perfect!

Pretty cool place, I've never been to a place with a full course meal. The food was great and the service was great as well. The view was awesome as well and they gave us a wonderful evening. My only complaints would be price and parking, the price is understandable but me being somewhat poor,I won't be able to visit often and the parking was a little cramped.Vegetarian options: They had alternatives available if need be, all you have to do is ask.Kid-friendliness: Very friendly environment. Though it is a high class place so make sure your kids are well behaved!Parking: Parking was fairly poor if the place was busy when my family had gone we probably would have to do a little walking.Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible, in order to get to the dining area you have to go down some pretty steep stairs.

I have never had bad food here. It does surprise me they are still requiring proof of vaccination as they’re the only place I have seen in the state do it other then a stadium. This past experience took much longer then planned, anticipated, or experienced in the past. Dinner lasted over three hours. We were seated at 6:00 and didn’t get our check until about 9:20. The staff are friendly however, the could use more wait staff. There was one person and she was slow and not well educated about the food. In the past we have been told what we are eating and asked if we wanted to take home leftovers. I hate ware and when hearing the food would be thrown out she looked at me funny when I asked if I could take some. No clue what was in the salad or the dressing (it was delicious). Bug in the past you would be told what was in the salad and what type of dressing. You were also told if any food came from their garden. She also couldn’t answer questions about food like what kind of flower was on the dessert. She was nice but the entire meal was slow. It would be nice to hear about the food again… however I would still eat food here anytime because it literally is one of the best meals you will find on the coast!

Customers must show proof of covid vaccination to make a reservation. My health history is private and should certainly not be required to eat out. I haven’t seen this anywhere else I’ve been.

If you are anywhere near here and especially if you are staying at the Sylvia Beach hotel, then a meal here is an absolute must. We were seated at a table with two other couples we did not know and the lively conversation flowed all evening. The food was excellent too! In the morning breakfast was served in the same room and although there was no choice it was high quality and a good sized portion.

Another lovely dinner at Sylvia Beach Tables of Content. The hummus was made with fresh garbanzo beans, the naan/ pita bread was this amazing combo (I can’t remember the me of it), the lamb was cooked to perfection, the salad was so fresh and put pretty much every salad I’ve ever had to shame, and the almond cake was divine. The presentation of every dish was gorgeous, and the service was awesome as usual! A wonderful meal to end a rainy day!

This place was a dance on my taste buds. My friends and I were staying at the Sylvia Beach Hotel and got reservations for the Table of Content (the restaurant at the hotel)....we were so thankful we did! Each night is a different meal....I know because we stayed an extra night at the hotel to eat the four course meal for the additional night. I had the chicken the first night and the duck the second night. They were both delicious!!Just go....the cost is great for the four course meal, the meals are beyond amazing, the staff is friendly and fun, and it is an experience that can be wonderful single or with a group!!!Oh, and did I mention it looks out to the ocean....bonus!!! You're robbing yourself of the joy of dining if you don't check it out. Dinner starts at 6pm, so make your reservation now. ?

Great ambience, food was delicious. Only could have been better if the weather had cooperated

By FAR The Best Restaurant In Newport! Ignore pseudo fancy restaurants on the Bayfront and other places if you can get a table here. Great home cooked multicourse meals with wine pairings. Service and setting are very good too. Definitely recommend!

I was really looking forward to our dinner as my daughter had eaten there in November and raved about her meal. Unfortunately, ours was disappointing. The appetizer was 2 deep fried cheese balls in an apple puree. Who eats deep fried food anymore? Tasty, but you feel it later. Second course was a butter lettuce salad with sprouts, raisins and deep fried cheese crisps. It was very heavy on the acid/vinegar. For the main course I ordered petrale sole. (I had pre-ordered over the phone and did not hear "deep fried". I should have asked for clarification). Sole is such a delicate fish so I assumed lightly pan fried. Very heavy again. Veggies of green beans and roasted potatoes were very good. Dessert was a pannacotta with sour cherries and chocolate sauce on top. There was too much chocolate for my taste, but some may like that. Overall, I would not choose to dine there again. I eat a pretty healthy diet, so I did not expect anything deep fried at that caliber of restaurant. I do wish them luck in this crazy time of Covid. Maybe they will improve.

Oh wow! This is so good! Menu changes daily, but we were served mushroom arancini for appetizer, with a lovely salad made from local greens with cheese crisps, a fried petrale sole with a charred lemon aioli, with roasted potatos and green beans, after which I though I wasn’t going to be interested in dessert. But the buttermilk pana cotta with chocolate and preserved cherries won me over. The entire meal was a masterpiece, as behooves a restaurant located in a hotel that is themed on literature. Make your reservation in advance, and call that morning to choose your entree.

I always would give this place 5 stars until 4 of us had dinner on Sept. 24th. We were all disappointed with our meals. Formerly every course was outstanding. On the 24th the courses were very ordinary and nowhere's near gourmet. Did they change chefs!?

Beautiful surroundings, not ADA friendly upon arrival, no option given for a different route other than stairs.Food was excellent although main course portions were not equal throughout the table. Could have used a description of the dishes as we were not guests of the hotel and not be chastised for not eating enough salad.
